New member saying hi

Hey guys new poster here i've decided to try and save my life by quitting smoking i've been smoking for about 4 years but i'm finally sick of it and ready to quit. I know their will be hard times ahead but i'm ready to face them head on and not lose faith in myself and give back into smoking. If anyone has any advice on exercises or anything I can do to help me through hell week I would greatly appreciate it :) But this board looks like a great place to be and I look forward to meeting the rest of you. A little facts about me i'm from Gold Canyon Arizona, i'm 25 years old, i'm also a huge sports fan.

Hey guys thanks for the fast replys I will try all those tips you guys suggested and you can bet I will be posting and reading these forums through my quiting phase and beyond that. Also their will be these times I will find it the hardest to not have a cig they are when I have a meal, go to a bar with friends and a few of them do smoke but I will tell myself to deny a cig if they offer me one, and also after watching a sporting event such as football or something or just relaxing at home. Those are the times that will be the hardest for me but i'm dedicated to quiting and will refuse any cigs anyone offers me.

New member saying hi

Hey guys i'm a new member here and just wanted to say hi to everyones who's trying to quit smoking i'm currently 4 days smoke free ever since my doctor put me on chantix and I must say this pill works really well, its only been 4 days but I have no desire to smoke a cigerate and when I do get withdrawl symptoms they only last for a few seconds. I really want to stay quit free this time and I think under chantix I can finally do it. I must admit the first couple of days were kind of hard but its like all the desire to smoke a cigerate just went away once I switched to the 1.0 mg tablets. But anyways I hope I can continue this great start on i'm on it feels really great not having to worry about when my next smoke break will be trying to hide when i'm smoking etc. Well just wanted to share my story and I wish all of you gl who are new to quiting smoking like I am, i'll be sure to post on the messageboard on my success and just for friendly conversation :)

3 weeks without smoking one cig :)

Hey guys been a while since I posted but its now been 3 weeks and i've not had one smoke during that period, I am taking chantix and so far its working really well i'm into the final 6 weeks of taking chantix and I feel like even without chantix I will be able to stay smoke free. I also feel a lot better easier to breathe no more tight chest, shiner teeth brighter fingernails no yellow marks just feels really good not smoking anymore. I do still get cravings everynow and then but they only last for like a minute and are real easy to make it through. Also I have noticed i've gaind some weaight but thats probally cause since i'm not smoking i'm eating a lot more and the food taste a lot better :) Ill let you guys know how i'm doing once I go off the chantix completly in 6 weeks but i'm 100 percent sure it will be the same :) Anyways just wanted to keep you guys informed and say gl to all the people who are trying to quit its no easy task to do. Also to all the people who have quit stay smoke free it makes life a lot better to live!!! Well talk to you guys later now I need to get some sleep and look forward to another day of being smoke free :) talk to you guys later
