Interesting question and responses. It can be overwhelming if you
focus on the 'why' or rather, 'root cause' of panic attacks and
excessive anxiety. Acknowledging the causes may be helpful but more
importantly, remind yourselves how far you've come in managing your
fears and what steps you have taken that help you get through the more
difficult times. Recognizing the emotions that arise and understanding
how to deal with them in a healthy way can prevent them from piling up
inside, making it easier to deal with each situation that may arise.
You can look into ways of doing this using The Panic Program. It is an
excellent resource providing information on how to manage panic attacks
or feelings of anxiety, tools on how to keep from escaping situations
that may trigger panic or anxiety and understanding the panic cycle. You can learn more about panic attacks (what it is, causes, symptoms etc..) on the Education section of the website.
How does understanding the 'why' help you manage your panic attacks or symptoms of anxiety? In what way is it important to you?

It is great that you've created a plan that works for you, and a good reminder that it is not about perfection, but to take one step and one day at a time to achieve your goals.
How have you rewarded yourself for achieving past goals?
I like the ideas that have been shared. Remembering to breathe(!) and setting a cellphone alarm as a cue are great ways to take time from our day to focus on ourselves and how we are feeling/coping in the moment.
CdnGuy, thank you for continuing to share your updates with us!
White coat syndrome is in fact common finding in the Dr's office. As it has been mentioned, people will invest in a BP cuff to monitor their levels at home to determine what is consistent for them. It seems as though you are well aware of your thought patterns during these kind of anxiety-inducing situations. It is great to hear the support from others and reinforce great ways to keep anxiety at bay...keep breathing, keep active and keep reminding yourself of how far you've come.
That is great news. Happy to hear that things are moving forward in your favor - with both the landscaping project and challenging your negative thoughts!
Interesting discussion going on! It is definitely a challenge to find the balance in our daily life that works for us. I came across this quote recently: "Every day may not be good, but there's something good in every day".
What is the 'something good' that you have found in your day? How did it help you achieve balance?
