New and Improved PC 3.0

zoe27,

In order to access the worksheets and thought forms, you must complete the appropriate sessions. Once you complete the sessions, the worksheets will be unlocked and you can print and complete. You can find them in your Toolbox. The reason why you must complete the session before hand is because we want you to be able to use the knowledge you will gain, and have a good understanding in order to use the worksheets to the best of your ability.

Thank you for your feedback!

Anxiety, good or bad? Part 1 - Our traits

Jhori81,

Great Discussion!

Focus, worry and determination are common traits that those with anxiety may have, had, or may experience in the future at some point.

I'd like to add that creativity can also be a trait. One may use their creativity to avoid, create or distract either themselves or others.

Members, we'd love to read your contributions of thoughts!

Rebuilding Your Self-Esteem

Members,

Has an illness, addiction or other left your self-esteem in the gutter? In the weeks to come, we will be exploring various strategies to help rebuild your self-esteem:

Challenging the Inner Voice

As mentioned, individuals with low self-esteem have a very critical inner voice. One of the best strategies to start rebuilding
your self-esteem is to challenge that inner voice.

For unfairly harsh statements, be reassuring & praise yourself. (Ex: It might not have been perfect, but I worked hard & did a great job!)

For unrealistic statements, be realistic & learn from it. (Ex: Yes, I got a D on this test but my other grades in this or other classes were good. Next time, I will study more.)
For illogical statements, be logical. (Ex: Just because one of my friends is being quiet tonight, doesn’t mean she doesn’t like me. Maybe she is just having a bad day or is tired.)
For catastrophe statements, be objective. (Ex: Even though our relationship ended and I’m grieving a huge loss, I’m a great person and we just weren’t the right fit together.)
How did this strategy work for you? Were you successful in challenging your inner voice? Are you struggling and need more tips?

Rebuilding Your Self-Esteem

Members,

Has an illness, addiction or other left your self-esteem in the gutter? In the weeks to come, we will be exploring various strategies to help rebuild your self-esteem:
• Make a list of all your successes and read it everyday.
• Surround yourself with positive, supportive people. You are who you hang around with.
• Pick a mantra and repeat to yourself every morning and in times of self-doubt
• If you’re struggling in an academic or work-related situation, ask for help! Or do some research; attend a seminar or workshop to increase your competence.
• Seek outside help like a counselor, support group or peer mentor.
Please add your thoughts on rebuilding your self-esteem! More tips to come next week!

Rebuilding Your Self-Esteem

Members,

Has an illness, addiction or other left your self-esteem in the gutter? In the weeks to come, we will be exploring various strategies to help rebuild your self-esteem:

• Practice giving respect to those who deserve it because you’ll get it back. Respect for others & self-respect are closely tied together.
• Change you reaction when your self-esteem is tested. (Ex: Co-worker talking behind your back.) Letting it affect you in a negative way is a choice. If you feel you must do something about it, confront the co-worker in a calm, assertive & professional manner.
• Don’t let material possessions, bank accounts, jobs or other define you & your worth.
• Pick up a hobby or an area you are “weak” in and learn about it. Sign up for a class, go back to school, take a night course or other and become competent. A great confidence booster. Ex: Two left feet? Take a dance class!
Please add your thoughts on rebuilding your self-esteem! More tips to come next week!
