I wasn't going to sign in or post at all today but Suzy I just had to express my condolences and thank you for sharing this with us.
Nicodeman ran from my head when I read this. Little bugg*r can't handle the truth!
Thanks again.
Faith

I'm just curious ... if you're using the patch does it change any of those benefits?

Hi Jazz,
I, too, can totally relate. I remember reading a post that said not to get too H.A.L.T. (Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired)
I feel like I haven't slept for over a month!
Not only can I not sleep, I find I am experiencing 'restless leg syndrome' (sp?)
I have tried Nytol and that did nothing for me. I started taking off the patch before bed ... nothing. I've tried nice warm baths ... nothing. Camomille tea ... nothing. The only thing so far, like Sue, has been the Nyquil. I had a respiratory thing early in my quit and took some of that for a few nights and I have to say that on those nights I slept like a baby! But how long can you safely take that stuff?
I'm hoping that when I go down to Step Two of the patch next week that it might be better!
Take care,
Faith

I'd be very appreciative of the help a more 'seasoned' person could offer!
Thanks for putting this out there, Mr. Ed

I didn't want to be the first to respond to your post because I feel there are others with way more wisdom and great advice to offer you than I could at this point in my quit.
That being said, I feel like I can understand what you're feeling. Yes, we have changed. In so many ways. But I think that what hubby needs to understand is that what he probably perceives as negative is actually something of a positive major life change. A shift. A new way of life.
For me, its been a whole new way, something I am learning on a day to day basis. I am changing. And adapting and I really have no clue how to do this and sometimes its been really difficult and I've been cranky and sad and irritable. So what! I am told over and over again that it will get better. I am counting on that!
Hubby needs to grow up and learn some patience!
Good luck to you (and me) We can and are doing this. Its so hard but so worth it!
Now I'll let someone with more time give you something a little more helpful! :)

It's funny, it was just starting to pass. (Just like everyone said it would!) I was feeling a little more willing to engage and then today I went down a level on the patch.
I can feel hibernation and crankiness setting in all over again!
I'm OK with it though cause I have the experience of it starting to pass. After these 2 weeks on Step Two, I'll drop down one more time and then I'll be free.
Take care everyone!
Faith
