20 Minutes to 20

Hi dunedad, Thanks for the words. Don't be so hard on yourself, wailing dogs would be a good musical addition. Lol. I want my cigarettes back!!!

You gotta get mad! I know exactly what your going through. The last time I quit for two and a half months, then I thought I can handle one cigarette. The next week I was back to smoking a pack a day. You gotta be strong. For me it was the realisation that I am a very strong person with everything except this. You are stronger than a plant. Your not going to wake up tomorrow and be cured. It takes time and you have to want to quit more then you want to smoke. But I take it one day at a time and in twenty minutes I'll be at day 19. I woke up one day and said that's it. I wanted to make a demo but couldn't afford the studio time. Now I'm 190 closer. I wake up in the morning and if it's a hard day I always look in the mirror and say "How bad do you want it." It takes your money, your pride, and eventually your life. This is a great site and we are all in this together. Don't concern yourself with the rich and famous who are doing it. They won't be there for you when things get back; however, I can assure you that we will. Best of luck to you materialgirl. Stay strong. My cravings are still so strong .....

Hi Quittime, I have a hard time on the weekends too. I find that you have to keep yourself busy. Last weekend I cleaned my car to a spotless shine. Then after that you go back to work and don't have to worry for another five days. By then things are easier. I also go out to my car on my breaks. I'm one of those guys that will smoke if I get bored. Now I always have something to do. So my advice is clean a car, a house, and when your done you can come over to my house and clean. Lol. Your doing great Quittime, keep it up. Day seventeen

Hi all, Well it's been 17 days now and I'm feeling rather good. I'm now starting to quit other things that I felt I had to do to make it through the first couple of weeks; such as, eating at subway everyday for lunch. Tomorrow I will attempt to quit driving all over the place at lunch time. The psycological things are starting to leave me and I feel confident in my quit. I have even been around a couple of smokers and managed not to cave. I know that your supposed to stay away completly but to think that that will always be possible is a bit naive I think. So on I go through my journey of the quit. Finally I am a singer who can sing the way I could when I was younger. Thank you all for your support. I will be in touch. Stay strong Jess! I have done the same things multiple times before finally quitting for good. I'm only on day 17 but have no intentions of going back. So you slipped, #### happens sometimes, get back on the horse and ride into the sunset. We are routing for ya Jess.
