Did You Smoke Fillers?

Yeah I always knew that the cigarettes were more chemicals/crap than actual tobacco. Sadly I neevr cared before now. Mercy, Im changing your name to Show No Mercy! Your ruthless, I love it! A visitor left me a cigarette

I saved the last cigarette in my pack from 2 weeks ago. It's readily acessable. Im keeping it purposely to prove to myself I wont smoke. I think it makes me stronger knowing i can have one at anytime but choose not to. I will probably throw it away in 2 more weeks when I hit my month mark. Damn, I thought I had beaten the weight gain thing but after reading your post I relaize it hasn't happened yet since I am still on the patch. Good luck with the weight, my wife told me alot of it is water weight gain and its easy to get rid of. Hang in there. Congrats on finishing the patch and not smoking!

First day quitting

Angela, c ongrats on making the decision. I was in a similar siuation smoking at least a apck a day for over 15 years. Ive tried in the past with no sucess and this time I was really determined and I used the patch. It has worked well for me. Im 2 weeks clean today and havent slipped yet.

2 weeks for me!

I know tis not much but I'm damn proud! 2 weeks is the longest I have ever gone. Maybe once in 15 years I did 5 days. I also switched to step 2 of the patch. I was supossed to stay on step 1 for 2 more weeks but I felt I was ready. I am determined to egt off the patch and to continue being a non smoker. Thats pretty scarey. you mgiht want to get checked for sleep apnea. Are you usually tired even having a good nights rest? That could be a sign.

2 weeks for me!

(Jon Needs to vent)] The worst part of this whole system is this rewards thing. I am not in a good financial state. When I started quitting I thought of all the cool stuff I could buy/ reward myself with. Now I dont even know how I ever afforded to smoke in the first place. Ive been looking for a new job since Feb. I have a great job teaching music lessons and running the whole music program at this store. I work about 40 hours a week total, been here for over 5 years. The sad part is the owner is cheap and I only make about 20,000 a year here. I have a wife and a son who I barely get to see because I ahve to work so late. So in feb. started applying for jobs that would pay slightly better, but get a foot int he door at some company where I could move up. So I have basically been applying for simple Admin jobs at large companies. Ive applied to at least 30-40 places online. I ahve recieved only 1 response for an interview. Enterprise rent a car offered me $10 an hour for a 6 day 50 HR a week position. What a joke. Just feeling discouraged and depressed. It wont make me smoke, just wanted to vent. Hopefully this post isnt too off topic and wont get deleted. :confuse:

What a tobacco company says

I agree Rusty. Its funny how nobody attacks the liquor industy the way they attack the tobacco industry. Then again, you cant really enjoy cigarettes responsably. My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/24/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 5 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 116 Amount Saved: $27.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 16 Mins: 6 Seconds: 12

Is it like alcoholism ?

Ha! Your beating me by 1 cigarette not smoked! I think in time we will both enjoy not having to take a break from the computer. The "smoke break" we used to enjoy so much is really an interuption not a break.

Pure Hell

Misha, If it makes you feel any better I'm still struggling too. After almost 2 weeks even! Think of how hard its been for you so far and all the effort you've put in... do you want that to be in vain? Do you want to throw all that away? Thats what keeps me from skoking personally. Also looka t your stats, the money and life saved ect...
