I handle stress by working out. The cold weather keeps me inside and I want to climb the walls. I think about smoking when I have idle time so I excercise. It helps me change my thought process because if I'm winded from working out, the last thing I want is a ciggy. There are days I have to MAKE myself excercise, but once I get started it's ok

I have set a new quit date of 4-1-09. I am metally preparing myself by visiting this site everyday. I quit back in 2007 and stayed smoke free for almost a year. I had a few cigs with some drinks and I've been smoking ever since. I regret starting again and I hate feeling crappy from smoking. Thanks for the inspiration, I know I can do it again!

Well it's been almost 2 weeks and I'm still feeling like I'm not really here. I wouldn't call it depressed but I don't feel any real happiness yet. I feel like a robot just going thru the motions of the day. I don't really care about much of anything going on around me I mostly just want to go to bed and hope for this feeling of nothingness to pass.
I'm on the Chantix....maybe thats the problem

Thanks for the encouraging words from my fellow non smokers!!! I am usually a very positive person so this phase is very difficult for me.
I will keep moving forward and just let this all pass because I know it will

Hello Janet, it's nice to see youre still with us.
I just wanted to say keep your chin up and focus on the positives of quitting because they last forever. The suffering of your quit is temporary (although it may not feel like it) You are strong and I believe in you
