Pokerbrat
I've been smoke free for 77 days and don't have many cravings because I've changed up my daily routine enough to distract my brain, but I went home to visit family over the weekend and I craved each and every day. I haven't been home since my quit so I havent' trained my brain to not think about smoking during my visit. I made it through the weekend without being evil to anybody :) In fact nobody even knew I was craving a cig.
I think for some people it takes up to a year to re-train the thought process where cigarettes aren't a part of life.
Be patient and remember to reward yourself because you've come SO far already

Hi luvlambs and congrats on your first day! You seem to have a good attitude which is very helpful. I am on Chantix also and it has been a great quitting tool for me.
Good luck, I'm rooting for you!!!

Hi Hammer,
I suggest setting your quit date no more than a week out. The sooner you quit, the less time you have to dwell on it.
I say just do it and don't look back, times a wasting!
I was afraid to quit too, smokes were my best friend: They were there when I was happy, sad, hungry, full, tired, anxious, etc.
I did go through a small depression during my quit but I just got off my butt and started jogging.
There are all sorts of things to try and not everything will work for you. If something isn't working.... you need to try something different
Good luck and keep us posted
