2nd day

Congrats on quitting the most stinky nasty awful habit a human being could ever have. Please stick with it because the longer you aren't breathing poisonous tar filled smoke the more benifits you will notice. I'm done!!

What an introduction, I love it! Just stay that way please. Keep reminding yourself how you've been taken for a ride with nicotine and how it has swindled you out of most of your life and never smoke again.

It's not so hard

Well I guess I should introduce myself to all the other quitters out there. :) I quit smoking on the first of January this year after smoking two packs a day for the last eighteen years. I smoked my last cigarette at around 12:30 AM that night/morning just before crashing and haven't smoked another since then. There have been moments where I found myself wanting to drive to the gas station and get a pack. Hell, there was one time recently where I actually drove to the gas station, bought a pack, and then returned them two minutes later and bought some hard candy instead. If there was any type of message that I could spread to those contemplating on quitting or even those out there who have recently quit, it would be to buy a bunch of hard candy. Preferably sugar free because personally I don't want yellow teeth from smoking, but I also don't want rotten teeth from too much sugar, either. Good luck, everyone! Had to update my profile. I knew I saved more money than that. My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/31/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 87 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,497 Amount Saved: $565.5 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 18 Mins: 40 Seconds: 30

I had a heart attack and I have to quit smoking

Several people I've known over the years who started smoking told me that they loved it because it helped kill time. But the truth is that they just stopped doing everything else that they were doing before and replaced it with smoking. It's an addiction and your mind plays tricks on you as it tries to help you give reason to keep smoking. Start reading books at a book store, going to the gym, go to the movies, basically anything at any place that doesn't allow smoking. Day one

Altoids work great as an alternative to cigarettes. Icebreakers Sours are sugar free, though and are also a great alternative. I don't mean to sound like a rep for these brands but it's what I use to stay smoke free. Both of these are cheaper than a pack of cigarettes and make your breath smell way better. They don't make you cough or hack up strange things either. Good luck on and congratulations on quitting. Well alohakeia, I'm not sure. But if I had to guess, I'd bet there are a lot more cases of people buying packs and smoking them rather than returning them. As far as what I'm doing with all my saved cash? Vacation vacation vacation! I've always wanted to see Anchorage. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/31/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 87 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,512 Amount Saved: $565.5 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 19 Mins: 51 Seconds: 26

To be honest, I don't know what Chantix is. Allison, thank you for your kind words. Everyone, thank you for your kind words. If there is a supplement out there that helps you quit smoking then that is great, at least you aren't smoking. That is the key. I quit cold turkey simply because I tried to quit from other supplements before and it always led to the same crap: me feeding their addiction by going back to smoking, me buying a ton of stupid ways of trying to try to quit. It really seems stupid but you'll be laughing at yourself and what I had to say after you quit. need to quit

Hey Katy congrats on your desicion to quit smoking. Everyone offered advice to me when I quit and it didn't really mean much to me at the time. I was mostly scared thinking about quitting until I got it in my head that while smoking, I'm not only ruining my health and shortening my life, I'm also helping make a group of old men richer who are smart enough not to be smoking. It's been 4 weeks since my last cigarette

Hey stick with it buddy! You're not just getting to the point where your trying to talk yourself into starting. The nicotine isn't even in you anymore. Get some sour candy or just some hard candy that makes your tongue twist when you chew on it. It will keep your mind occupied.
