I am on day two / cold turkey

That's a great time to quit. Last year when I quit for a month, it was because I had severe bronchitis. But, last year I let excuses suck me back into smoking. Hang in there and think of how much better you're going to feel. This is the first winter that I haven't been sick with bronchitis. I'm really starting to like it!!@ My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/2/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 26 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 806 Amount Saved: $208 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 1 Mins: 48 Seconds: 47

Depression

I too have found that just staying busy has been the key. I didn't even have to think about it. When I first quit , I was like a wild woman around the house, doing the kind of housework that is considered "spring cleaning" . And even though you feel depressed and probably don't want to exercise. It is amazing how much better you feel when you jump into something like that. I ride one time around the block with my kids and my adrenalin is pumping.... Find something you enjoy and just throw yourself into it head first.... And keep posting! We're here for ya! Drums -- along with a punching bag....WOW!!! Great idea... for us...I don't know about everyone else you live with!! :) Then when someone starts talking about things that make me want to smoke I could just grab the drumsticks and whack away... hilarious...feeling much better now, just thinking about that. smoked. I grabbed my keys three times to go to the store. The only thing that stopped me was the closest store was closed already and he said if I went and bought a pack of cigarettes I was a loser. Man that ticked me off. He also quit by the way. Anyway, I find it hard to deal with too many things at once, he's still wearing the patch so I guess he's in the mood to fix everything at once. I'm talking about our relationship. Anyway, I just had a bad night, but I have to tell you, when I woke up this morning, and I didn't smell like smoke, and I didn't have the feeling in my lungs like I had just smoked a carton of cigarettes overnight. I was very proud of myself. But I can tell it is going to be trying if certain people continue to want to deal with stressful situations during this critical time of my quit. But, I guess that's part of it. Learning how to cry without smoking, learning how to scream if necessary, without smoking.... It was so hard. :( My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/2/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 25 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 765 Amount Saved: $200 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 23 Mins: 14 Seconds: 1
