Patches: Question

i am also on the 21 mgm patches. i am following a programme set up by my health authority and go to weekly no smoking meetings . thank goodness they are there i would have cracked before now if it had'nt been for them. anyway to get to the point , we are advised to go on the 21 mgm for 4 weeks then down to 14 mgm for 2 weeks then down to 7 mgm for the next two weeks. i am going to follow this programme and at the moment i feel fine. if i felt i was cracking on the lower dose i would go back up anything is better than the ciggs. i think you are doing fantastic as a none smoker. just wanted to let you know what we are advised to do. good luck from a well wisher My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/10/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 21 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 386 Amount Saved: 94.5 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 6 Mins: 28 Seconds: 27

confused but getting there

i feel so confused!!!!! one minute i feel like screaming and crying simultaneously, the next i feel elated. what a strange feeling .snapping a bit also if anyone bugs me. actually i was probably like that before but its a great excuse. i decided in this afternoon to take my grandson swimming after i had picked him up from nursery. it was great .i have not been to the swimming baths for about 10 years or more i could not believe how great it was. i feel so different at times its as though i am getting more confident by the minute. watch out everyone ...maybe this stopping smoking is great after all. i am not been too complacent but i never want to have another cigarette as long as i live. its up to me i know ,so i have to stay strong. i also know i am still on the patches. i have another week on the 21 mgms patches and then down to 14 mgms. in a way i am looking forward to dropping the nicotine as i am getting nearer to no nicotine at all. god i am nearly 3 weeks as a none smoker i cannot believe it possible.. see you all and good luck we all need it.. on day 17 up days and down days

On day 17 i have started a no smoking course run by my local health authority. i am on 21mgm 24 hr patches. i found on the second night i had had enough of not sleeping and having dreams so i have not worn them on a night since. i am remaining positive but i am still finding it hard at times to deal with the withdrawal symptom's. i have smoked for 32 years on 20 cigarettes day. the great thing is that although it took me 8 months to actually send my form in to the class i was sat there with others waiting for the class to fill up when in walked two of my friends ,(husband and wife david and gill ) i could not believe it. i phone gill up every day as she is on patches also ,to compare symptom's ,i do not know what i would do without her !!! i am so glad i started the class as it gives me an incentive to stay off the crap fags and you can also listen to others and have a laugh at how pathetic we all are. after saying that we all feel better in our health so maybe we have something to laugh about. i never want to smoke again but i wish it was easier than this. just at the moment i am feeling on a high as i find this to be a symptom of not smoking but yet mad with myself that i ever smoked. what idiot's we are to do this to ourselves .but i suppose we are all on the right path . i am feeling the nicoten urge at the moment as i do on a daily basis please tell me it will get easier . thanks for letting me have a grumble good luck to all you none smokers....who needs them.... (tha ciggs i mean ) My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/10/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 17 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 314 Amount Saved: 76.5 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 20 Mins: 17 Seconds: 17

whats wrong with me

i feel crap. i am loosing lots of sleep. i keep waking up at about 3 am for no reason and find it hard to get back to sleep. i am a walking zombie at the moment.i hope this wears off. i had no cravings yesterday untill 12.30pm and that only lasted about 10 seconds. i thought fantastic its getting easier. then wham back to normal today thinking about ciggs and getting the craving feeling back. bl******dy addiction. one minute i am saying i will never smoke again (and i never want to )and the next i am nervous i may crack i woke up at 5.00am yesterday morning and just sobbed my heart out, why i do not know. i then went to work . was there 10 minutes and had to walk off and again sobbed. i spent all day with puffy eyes trying to act normal , but got through the day. again this morning i got up all upset but carried on preparing the sunday lunch. i feel ok now i think it has done me good to cry (sob) . it could be down to the loss of sleep or my body adjusting i do not know. tomorrow is another day..... cheers everyone My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/10/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 23 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 420 Amount Saved: 103.5 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 11 Mins: 19 Seconds: 2

This is hard.

HIYA GREENETTE yes i feel exactly as you do . i spent two days crying and feeling really low over this weekend. today has been a lot better. its like a roller coaster we just dont know whats roud the corner. up to now its been good days and bad days . but i do not want to be gloomy after all look how far we have come this site is the best ,as we know we are not on our own and we can compare how we feel . it would seem this is the norm and it will get better. i am going swimming this week as i did last week it was great. that was my reward to getting and feeling fitter. we will win this YOU ARE DOING FANTASTIC........
