Hi Wendel
I can certainly relate I too had a heart attack I was 39 that was 3yrs. ago
I'm on all kinds of meds as well :( I tried cold turkey, Wellbutrin and the patch over the course of 3 yrs. I just couldn't do it, I guess I wasn't ready took me 3 yrs. after my heart attack to finally quit!!! :)
I'm currently taking the new med Chantix............ WHOOO-HOOO can't believe I've not smoke in 84 days......YIPPEE
Reading this board keeps me motivated.
Good luck!!!!! You can do this!!!

I'll be quit 6 months soon and ya'know there ain't a day that goes by that I don't think of smoking!!!! (of having one) I guess you would call that a smoking memory not a crave?
I think of smoking everyday I read where some members never think of it again after a few months. I tell you there must be something wrong with me (like I said not a day that goes by!!!!)
Only thing keeps me from having one is that first few weeks gosh was it h**L!!! don't won't to go through that again.
I keep plugging alone thinking it's gonna get better (I don't know) I've gain 25 lbs. that I didn't need NOW I need to lose 75 lbs.
I've gotten pretty fat and unhappy with myself!!!
My exercising isn't working cause I take a beta blocker which slows down my heart rate. (can't get the heart rate up)
Right now all I have left is food and I got to do something about that!!!!!
I don't know what to do!! (maybe I'm depressed??)
P.s. Nobody smokes around me!!! (I do smell it on a co-worker at work)
My husband doesn't smoke why can't I just quit thinking about it?

Thanks everyone for the advice!!! I will look up self-talk in the search engine!!
You are right I'm still thinking like a smoker instead of an non-smoker!!!! Now I need to wrap my head around being a non-smoker that is gonna take some work!!
I've been walking 2 miles a day 4 days a week for several months weight still coming on!!!! The problem is I can't get my heart rate up in the fat burning zone where it needs to be because I take Beta-Blocker for my heart (my heart beats too fast beta blockers slows it down)!!! (mainly I walk to get the heart/lungs inshape does nothing for my bod!!! I need to quit eating!!! You know how that is???
