Don't think I can do it

Hi Me, I sure hope you have rested, and are ready to come back! We are concerned...... Please post soon. I just wanted to let you know that you have a wonderful best friend. Why not do this together... I mean, count on eachother. Be eachothers shoulder. Encourage eachother. Don't give up. You are young, so am I. I too never pictured my life without a smoke. Most of my life, I had a smoke in my hand. All of my memories had a cig in them. Yesterday, I was a mess. I didnt want to talk to anyone, do anything. I just wanted to stay on the couch and cry. I too, never cry!!!! But all this is the detox portion. Your mind is losing all of the bad chemicals that you put there. So naturally, there will be wires crossed up there. Hang in there. Crying is not so bad, just exhausting. Now I can relate to the food thing. I haven't heard my stomach growl since I quit. I keep it pretty stuffed lately. Alls well though, some exercise will help with that. Dont worry about the food right now, your quit is more important. Focus on that. Most people feel like they are missing their best friend. I read someones post that said, "That missing part you feel is actually the Nicodemon you used to carry on your shoulder." Now he is not on your shoulder, he is in your mind. Trying to control you with junkie thoughts. You are young. I know you are strong. Kick that nicodemons A**.... Just because you dont hang around or go places that are "non-smoking", doesnt mean you cant be. Protect your body. You've hurt yourself enough. Now take care of it. You owe it to yourself. Smoking is attractive. It isnt sexy. Dont do it. Love yourself more than those cancer sticks. (if not, watch out 'cause problems WILL happen. Quit now, before you are forced to. Before it does more damage. Get on with your life, without a cig. Goal in mind

Hello A-nu-me!! I just wanted to say that you have a wonderful goal in mind, and with that, you will win. When your quit date arrives, please keep thinking of your goals. Have a definate plan to reach them, and then take on the I can do it attitude! Get through one craving at a time. Never think beyond that. Just remember, it all will pass and ease with time. But it seems you have that on your side! Good luck, and keep us posted on your thoughts and progress!! "replacement" therapy

Thank you Riverdale Man for this bump! I was just thinking of posting this question this morning! This is the one thing that I have struggled with from day one. I need to replace the missing "thing" in my life with something else. Especially on the weekends, where time is forever......... I've tried to do some "projects" around the house, but I dont feel like doing that anymore. I am a stay-at-home Mom, and all I do is clean the house, so I dont feel like doing anything with the house.... I go for a walk everyday. I eat a lot. Other than that, I'm stumped. I look forward to reading some of the ideas. My Quit is a hell of a journey...

Hello Healer; I too am an emotional wreck. It is really hard for me, as I am the most un-emotional person anyone I know! At least, in front of people. I have had about 8 of the 11 days of my quit crying. But all in good faith.......... I believe it is helping me in more ways than one. I have read that the first 3 weeks of quitting is the wierdest. Your mind is going through some rough stuff, not just your body! Keep strong! Blessing to you in your quit! 3 de day

Stormrider: If you want to quit, you can. The SSC will help as well. You need to be true. Use the tools to the left, and set some goals. You also need a plan to put into action. You have to know what you are going to do when the cravings come on. If you dont, the cravings could be too overbearing, and you will cave. Use this website, and post and read posts often. If you get bored, search the web for pictures of lungs or other organs. See what smoking is doing to you. It might change your mind. You have to have a plan, determination and knowledge to suceed. Get into it! Be stronger than those cancer sticks! You can do it! Day 3 very rough day

Well hello Dee! Congrats on 3 days! You are on your way!!!!! When you crave a cig, just remember it is the junkie talking. It will creep up on you at any given time. All you have to do is remember one simple thing -- smoking isn't an option. What can you do instead of dwelling on your thoughts of having a smoke? That is up to you. What kind of things do you enjoy? A book? Music? Take a walk? Make a long distance phone call to someone you miss? Dance like a maniac? Scream? Anything................ Just dont smoke. You have to take your mind off of your craving. If you can do that, you will get yourself through your cravings. I read a lot of posts on here. Old & new ones. It helps pass the time. And you learn A LOT! I've gotten closer to people by just reading their posts! Stay strong...... Never give in........... Your fight is worth it. You only have a few more days of hell week left. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!! *****4my2girls**** My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 11 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 238 Amount Saved: $35.97 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 23 Mins: 0 Seconds: 2
