Didn't know that it would be this way!!??!!

I certainly agree with you Phillip. The smell is so vile. Now I do enjoy the smell of a fresh lit cig, every now and then, but after a few seconds, that wonderful smell gets nausiating and discusting!!! My sister-in-law opened my door, and I was only about 8 feet away at my computer, and when she opened the door, a rush of ashtray smell raced in. I almost died..... It was so rancid. I usually have to hold my breath around her. She stinks. Horribly. I don't even want her inside my house. Her smell follows her............ Fighting Back today

Penguin, Your story really hit me. I only had my dad who smoked, but he quit about 17 years ago. I used to steal his smokes too. I know those kinds who will never quit. And don't even want to hear about it. My hubby's family are those kinds. But to sit back and have to watch them do that to theirselves, must be terrible. Out of this, I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for the picture of how I would have been to my kids. They would have had to watch me poison myself, to my death. Thank you for making my choice crystal clear. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 57 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,724 Amount Saved: $186.39 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 15 Mins: 0 Seconds: 43

I Inhaled

OMG, I just spit out my coffee when I read N2K's message!!!!! Wow, laughter is the best medicine!!! Thank you for the laughs.......... Okay, Lady. I know exactly what you are saying. I do think ol' Nicodemon was on your shoulder when you intentionally took that second breath. And the third. But then the Lady we all know emerged again, and kicked ol' Nicodemon to the ground and stomped on him. I understand your guilty feeling. I too have intentionally inhaled the second hand smoke too. AAAHHH, but then I start to cough. Even second had smoke is foreign to my lungs now. Now when I purposely inhale it, I love the feeling that I cannot even inhale it without coughing!! Wow..... I love that!!! Stay strong, and just realize that Nicodemon is still lingering around you. Trying sooooooooo hard to break you. Even with that last dirty trick!! :eg: My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 57 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,725 Amount Saved: $186.39 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 15 Mins: 3 Seconds: 38

Tough Weekend

Hi there Cyberduke! Wow, there must have been something in the air this past weekend! I too hate the "drilling" that some people do. Questions, questions, and more questions!! In your case though, it couldn't be controlled. I'm sorry you were frustrated! I went to a party this weekend. There were no smokers there, so no craves. I'm starting to love these parties! Anyway, it started to become a drab when everyone starting asking me about my quit. They would say "You mean, you didnt even sneak just one". Normally that statement wouldn't offend me, but they said it with "your kidding. Not you. You will always smoke......" Now coming from people who have never smoked, this is harsh. But I threw it away because they have no idea........... Then one girl asked me how long, and I told her. Then we got on the subject of food. She told me to drink water. When I explained that is what I do, she then said, "You mean this is for real? Is this a real quit???" I almost lost it. I had to remember she never smoked. It took everything in me at that point to stay calm, respectful, and a woman. I so wanted to crush her. But she meant no harm to me, she just does not understand. So I forgave her and went to talk to someone else. Where was the GOOD JOB???? They ask me questions, say some rude remarks, but not even one good job!! Not from anybody there. So I wanted to say to you: GOOD JOB!!!! You are doing great in your quit! I am with you all the way!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 57 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,724 Amount Saved: $186.39 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 15 Mins: 2 Seconds: 24

Daily diet watch 5

Okay, I have purposely stayed away from this thread for a few days. I have been horrible!!! I have eaten a lot of fast food lately. But it is time to get back on track. Today: B- Coffee That's it, since it's only 9:37am here. I will eat some Cottage Cheese with cucumbers and some peanuts in a little bit though. I need to make a promise to be accoutable with what I choose to eat. I have a fridge full of fruits and veggies, a cabinet full of of snacks. But I get to the point that I just want a plain old greasy hamburger with fries. How do you get over the idea of thinking about all these unhealthy foods?? Maybe it is because I let myself go toooooooo long without eating. Then I am starving, irratible, and want to gorge on anything and everything!! Bad Day

I'm so sorry for your loss Vic. I too went through that not too long ago, both of my dogs, within 2 months apart. It is painful to say the least. Our pets really are part of our family, and it is just as hard to say good-bye to them as to any other person. I am proud that you made it through smoke-free! You can do it! Keep up the good work!
