Go ahead. Kick, scream, punch the heck out of your pillows. Go buy a punching bag. Hit it, kick it.
It is all okay. This is normal. Smoking DID mask our feelings. You have to learn how to manage them. It is hard. I especially do not like the out of control feeling for me. But if you can learn by one emotion at a time, you will get there.
One foot in front of the other.
Is a reward due???? You are on your way --- 10 days is awesome!! Do something for yourself!! Take care of yourself. Be gentle.
You are doing great!! I love your way of thinking. I do the exact same thing. There is once in a while where it catches up to me. Then I feel that everything is making me drown!! But it too passes, and I pick myself up and continue on my way. Believing this is the best that I can do.
Take care, and keep us posted. I'm never far.

But I managed to let it slip away...... always saying I'll go tomorrow. I also used to work for one that did European river cruises.......... same story there. Always tomorrow.
Here I am now. Never traveled. :(
You are doing great, and you deserve this!! Keep up the hard work, and please remember to take pictures for me................lol Someday I'll get there........

Ron,
Please do not smoke. You are under a tremendeous amount of stress, I understand, but smoking will only complicate the matter. You need to be free of smoking/nicotene for your healing. You must know how important it is to not smoke for your recovery, right??? Please, please, please do not smoke.
Those smoking thoughts are just your junkie talking. Taking advantage of you right now. Don't let him!! Get mad again..... Get your strength back..... Get out your reasons for not smoking..... Take deep breaths..... Grab your favorite CD, and put on some headphones and go for a walk (unless it is raining???)lol. Do anything, but get those smoking thoughts out of your head!!!! Do not give them the control. You have to let them go. Stop the battle, and give in to the freedom...... Put your thoughts aside, and think about anything else that has no relation to smoking. Gather a list of things you wish to accomplish. Go into detail of your dreams. Anything!!!!
I cannot let you go Ron. Please. Take my hand. I'm still on the IM. I will walk with you through your troubles. I am here for you. I will be on all day today.
You are in my prayers Ron. I know that after your sugery, you will feel better. I think you will enjoy your freedom. And I want to celebrate with you. So please, don't smoke.

You are right Ann,
Your quit must be your own. I finally realized what everyone was telling me when they told me that. I felt so Betrayed. I posted that when I realized my hubby went back to smoking.
They told me to protect my quit. I thought, I'm secure. But, then I really thought about it. Seeing him smoke might have brought some thoughts into my head. Resentment, anger, and wishing to smoke. But it didn't. I am still going strong.
I am around smokers all of the time. They are all used to me "removing" myself. I protect me. I protect my quit. I will do anything I have to.
Point being, you smoked because your hubby did first. If you were farther along in your quit, it might have been different. Don't let his decisions make yours. If you want to quit, quit. And do it for yourself!
Let us know when you are coming back, okay? You can do this!!
