Oh man is it hot here!!!.......... I ate pretty well yesterday. Had some cold-cuts, fruit and veggies. However, I did eat a piece of cake. Oh well. I didn't have time to go swimming yesterday. The baby shower ran late. Went out to eat sushi for dinner. So, I basically got no exercize!! :( Sometimes it is hard to find the time. I know I have to. But being that it is so dang hot here, and it was 87 degrees when I went to bed............... how can I actually go outside and walk?? Oh, wait........ I own a treadmill. I guess I will go dust it off. ;) 4my2girls What Consumes Your Thoughts Controls Your Life My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 92 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,773 Amount Saved: $300.84 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 10 Mins: 29 Seconds: 38

Still here barely

Hello Steve, I agree with what everyone said here. Unfortunately, the thoughts of smoking do not go away as quickly as the actual nicotene withdrawl. However, you can control it. It will still come, but if you control it, it doesn't last. I actually talked to myself. I had major debates with Nicodemon. That is how I got through being so strong. I knew I was stronger than him. I knew what I had done, and I decided to take my life back. I will no longer be under his control. I put on the boxing gloves, and decided to knock him out. One punch at a time. It does get easier. But it takes time. Make sure you are rewarding yourself. And make sure you remember the things that have changed for the better since you quit. This is a great time to start anew. Give yourself the love and tenderness that you need. Be gentle with yourself. Realize that you used to smoke, yes, but you do not anymore. The cravings are just in your mind ~ the habit part of your smoking. Break it by controling your thoughts, or by talking to the demon head on. You can do this!!! ;) 4my2girls What Consumes Your Thoughts Controls Your Life My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 92 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,774 Amount Saved: $300.84 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 10 Mins: 37 Seconds: 25

Second-Class Citizens....

I think of it as her way of shifting her guilt. When I smoked, I never wanted to be around those who were "reformed quitters". I hated and resented them telling me how bad smoking was. DUH....... like I didn't know. I would just roll my eyes and turn my back to them. I didn't want to hear it. I believe I was jealous of them, to an extent. I didn't think of the harm I was doing to myself everytime I inhaled. I knew it, but would never think of it. So, there are a few individuals who are out-spoken. Instead of rolling their eyes and walking away, they speak out. Without thought. That is what I think that lady was doing. Her guilt about smoking, and her jealousy of you quitting, was how she voiced it. Anybody who belittles and makes fun of someone else lacks the self confidence of themselves. That is why teen-agers are so prone to that. They make fun of someone just to try to feel better about themselves. I know she wasn't a teen-ager, but it is used just as a reference. I would have said that same thing Lindsey. Instead of a preachy come-back, that was a great response. I'm sure she didn't know what else to say. Confusion - she quit smoking, but likes to smell the smoke??? That is hard to equate as a smoker. ;) 4my2girls What Consumes Your Thoughts Controls Your Life My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 92 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,774 Amount Saved: $300.84 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 10 Mins: 36 Seconds: 18

This is so hard....

Well hello again Rainne!! I understand and remember what you are going through. The dizziness, sore throat, and the chest ache ~ luckily though, you can think of these as healing things. This is your bodys way of healing from the poisons that you put in it. Just remember that this is temporary. Hell week is just that. Have you completed the tools on the left?? They are so important!!! Take care of yourself right now. Be kind to yourself. And it is okay to cry and sleep. That is what I did for my first week!!! Remember to drink lots of water!! Oh, and one more thing. Don't dwell on a crave. The more you think about it, the longer it will last. When it hits you, take some deep breaths and reconize it as a craving. While you are breathing, say to yourself that this is a crave, and it will pass; I do not smoke anymore; This will pass. Then you MUST change your thoughts. Get out a CD, or ipod, and listen to music. Get up and force yourself to take a walk. Bring your music and water bottle along. It really will help! ;) 4my2girls What Consumes Your Thoughts Controls Your Life My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 88 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,653 Amount Saved: $287.76 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 2 Mins: 47 Seconds: 57
