Quitting Monday Morning

I am a 37 year old mother and wife. I started smoking when I was 29. I'm tired of how it makes me feel and I want to be free of this demon (cigarettes). I have a plan to start working out again, do alot of writing, drink lots of water and play video games to de-stress. Wish me luck... I'm reading to plunge head first in the non-smoking pool. Quitting Monday Morning

Daddybear6611: Thank you for wishing me luck. : ) Knight Christine: Thank you for the list of tips. Ive printed them out and got them tacked on my bulletin board over my computer. I cant go cold turkey cause I smoke about 2 packs a day. Im using the patch. Casey: I feel much better finding this place. Im not the only one going through this. Ive used the free program and Im ready. This site is awesome! : ) Smoky: Looks like we have the same quit date if Im not wrong. Good luck and thanks for support. We can do it! : ) Jessie Marie: Im a stay at home mom, for now at least until I get my youngest into high school, so Im able to check the site every morning. Ill be back on tomorrow morning ready to do battle. Hopefully, Ill still feel this optimistic in the morning with a nice cup of coffee in hand and no cigarettes in the house. Thanks to all! Hugs! Quitting Monday Morning

Thank you Cuddles... I like that. The three P's. I'll tack that one on my board too! I can't take even ONE puff... because that will lead to another... and another... and *whew* I've already done that for years... and years... and I really can't do that anymore. I'm doing it...

Can't say this is easy... I'm sitting here with my hot cup of coffee (can't give up my caffeine), a lit candle (smells nice), and sunlight shining through my windows (no ugly streams of smoke anywhere). At the moment, I feel okay. I'm on the patch... and believe me that's the only thing keeping me sane. I'm breathing a little better.... already? Honestly, this morning I've been through some tears... but I'm already looking forward to day two. It does get easier... right? I'm doing it...

Thank you. :) I'm fighting this. I'm holding on. I've battled wanting to quit since 2002. I've tried and failed countless times (pitiful little ball on the floor waiting anxiously for husband to bring a pack of cigs from mini-mart down the street). *ugh* NOT ME THIS TIME! I'm so tired of wanting to quit so I decided with determination to get it over with. *sigh* I really can't take failing once again.... Today is the day!

Hello everyone. :) I'm very tired of smoking. Very tired of being labeled 'the smoker.' Tired of smelling smoke in my house, car and on me. I've been 'thinking' of quitting for quite some time now. I'm not accomplishing anything 'thinking' about it. Every puff I take is taking a second of my life. I put out my last cigarette this morning. My plan of attack is water, excercise, and sleep. Keeping my mind busy reading, drawing, playing catch with my daughter and gardening. I want to get the old me back... the me that the 'nicodemon' took from me. It's going to be a big struggle... one that I'm MORE than ready for. I'm not the 37 year old mom with the cigarette anymore... I'm the smiling one with the cool bottle of water. Wish me success... :) letgo My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/4/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 0 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

Today is the day!

P.S. This is a Very Supportive place to hang out and read and post... :) I'm not giving up this fight. Each attempt brings me closer to quitting cigarettes for good. I just need to be strong and get stronger. I love this quote...
It's better to be a non-smoker with an occasional desire for a cig than a smoker with a constant desire to quit...... Today is the day!

Well, I guess the scales weighed in favor of being a smoker... I'm closer to quitting but I'm still at it. Why is it so scary letting go of such a bad habit? Letgo is still LETTING GO.
