OK. In that case, forget what I just said and read Golferman's posts. If your husband "gave up smoking" at any time, he wouldn't be smoking cigars. Tobacco is tobacco, regardless of the method of delivery. He's still a smoker, still addicted. Sounds to me like his addiction is now threatened and he's reacting badly to it. Just as he is reacting badly to the threat to his mortality (brother's liver cancer). Your reaction to his outburst (not making decisions right now) was excellent. Sounds like you've got a good handle on it, Denisey. When things get rough, come here and vent. questioning my quit

Hi, VASmurfie. Congratulations on 2 weeks quit. That is a fantastic accomplishment. :) At this point, questioning your quit and feeling lonely is very normal. The "rush" of the initial quit is over and you've been pretty beat up over the last two weeks, both physically and emotionally. Now you're entering a time of "blahs". You'll question your quit and begin missing your old "friend". Let the grieving begin. That may last a week, or so, but it is temporary. Just keep in mind why you quit in the first place. Like Lady and Lucy said, write your reasons down and carry them with you. Also, remember the bad of smoking; the stink, eyes burning when smoke got in them, coughing, panic when you realize you are out of smokes or won't be able to smoke for some time, etc. You will tend to start forgetting the bad and only remembering the "good". Do not let that happen, VASmurfie. You've got a good quit going. Hang in there, it does get better and it is SO worth it. Dizzy Doodle in my Noodle

Hi, Tony. I was dizzy daily up until about three months ago. It wasn't a head-spinning, walk-into-walls dizzy, but more of a lightly-drunken/tipsy feeling that caused me to wander about +/- 1 foot off a straight line as I walked, say, down the hall at work. I had an ENG test done and the doctor found no inner ear problems. I was about to try a neurologist next. Then about three months ago (around Thanksgiving, or so) the dizziness changed from the pretty much constant drunken feeling to a sharp "ping" feeling when I moved my head. What that means is that when I would turn my head or body I would often get a burst of dizziness that hit strong and died out in about the time it took to say ping. I still have that a few times a week now, but the intensity is way down to barely noticeable. I've never been able to find any correlation between the "ping" and direction of turn, speed of turn, position of head, anything. And I've never been able to intentionally cause it to happen with any repeatability. If you're worried about it, I advise you see your doctor. Dizziness could be caused by all sorts of things from your heart to your brain and should not be dismissed lightly. Good luck, Tony. I don't think so, Melanie. I think it's a conspiricy by the tobacco companies to trick us back to smoking by making us think we're now in the minority. The tobacco industry's covert information gathering network is so sophisticated it shames the FBI's and CIA's combined. As soon as someone quits, they know it. Then they pull out all the stops to make the person feel like the oddball, hoping that psychological pressure coupled with the real addiction withdrawal will cause the person to relapse to smoking, thereby restoring their cashflow. [b]ATTENTION ALL QUITTERS:[/b] It is all an illusion. Do not fall for the sham! All those people are on the tobacco companies' payrolls. Many of them are not even smokers. Some aren't even real people.
