HI Ashley,
I almost regretted sending that post! Thank you!
I’m too shy to ask you to “cyber dance”(and we’re probably not allowed to because you need a professional distance), so I wanted to add info on the topic again, which is more in my comfort zone.
Once I was asked if I could use the thought record “online”, and I think the message was to wrestle with the thoughts spontaneously vs pen and paper. He had a great CV, and I’m lucky to have him for that short period.
I’m building a new core belief system, to shore up those new core beliefs that I am worthy and lovable and strong. This business of tearing away the old and building new core beliefs is hard. I feel like I don’t have a home. Anybody know that feeling?
What’s critical is our interpretations. The goggles are a great caricature of the negative interpretations which harm us. Goggles are so concise too, and easy to remember.
There are good thoughts too, but they escape. My negative core beliefs of being unworthy & unlovable and helpless are stronger and I can’t keep good stuff staying around so I can build a life...at least its taking forever. Mia is so lucky to have so many resources at her young age. Oh well.
The “thought” record should be renamed, since the misnomer is focusing on harmless thoughts, instead of the transformational interpretations which could result in new behaviours. Reframing record, or something like that, would better reflect the purpose, since the purpose is to reframe our thoughts for healthy behaviours and warm and fuzzy emotions.
That’s my thoughtJ
Hi Ashepp3
This system is in the “Beta” phase, and it’s hard to collect the data, as a start, but I can’t really remember my particulars. I’d guess my resistance get worse with fatigue, but it’s so particular to our circumstances, and different triggers around us.
When you start the programme, there are forms to complete to help challenge and support you, so you can work with professional and progress.
Look under the toolbar “toolbox” for the “symptom tracker”. Click the symptom tracker, and see the detail which will come from forms you’ll complete.
Maybe you could suggest the forms include a time thru the feedback section(toolbar at the bottom of the forum homepage)?
I use a similar form, from another book, which includes the date and time, so I would find it easy to adapt to this site’s tracking. I've done most of the programme, and a lot of things which are complementary and some are different.
This condition makes it hard to be self-disciplined, but it’s self-paced, so nobody’s judging. I do fall into the trap of comparing though...
Guy,
Following a recent eulogy of a cousin given by his teary eyed grand-daughter of the “footprints in the sand” poem, I don’t think we’re ever alone.
When you do what has to be done, swatting away nuisance emotions and thoughts like mosquitoes, you’re doing what has to be done*.
At the end of the day, I usually review my day, unravelling it, after progressive relaxation.
When I unravel the day, I am noting if i was “...active in all that the present moment demands of us(me) but in everything else remain passive and abandoned and do nothing but peacefully await the promptings of God.... The daily schedule, doing what needs to be done, brings with it its own healing power(Age quod agis*)...”.
MR,
With exhaustion creeping in on your, good sleep hygiene is critical, so read about taking care of yourself.* Self-care is critical, and you’re going into a difficult stage as you begin to care for your newborn, suggests Laura.
On a spiritual note, make the most of your prayer life, for balance, since I noticed you mentioned that side of you, however you do that. A daily site I used to use, is sacredspace.ie..
