Another newbie ....

Hello, everyone!  I'm new to the forum, but have lived with panic & anxiety for over 25 years.  For some reason, I am NOW ready to conquer it!  I'm tired of being a victim to these feelings and determining what I do or don't do on any given day, based on the anticipation of panic attacks.

I may have emetophobia, but it's a case of which came first ... the chicken or the egg.  I always feel like I'm going to be sick when I get a panic attack, so I'm not sure if I'm afraid of vomiting and then panic, or if the panic starts first and then brings on the fear of vomiting.

A couple of questions for those that may have experienced similar circumstances that I'm going through right now ....

Do you know of any herbal remedies that might help me as I wean off of Effexor XR?  My doctor and pharmacist won't suggest anything because "blah blah blah, studies, long-term effects, FDA approval, etc."  But I know there have to be some vitamin supplements or other things that can help with the withdrawal symptoms as well as lower anxiety levels as I taper off the meds.

Secondly, I just started the program here online, and so far so good.  I've read about the "Linden Method" and the "Panic Away" methods also.  Has anyone tried these as well and had positive results?  I learn better by listening and watching (vs. reading) which is why I was also looking for supplemental materials.

Lastly, I am a Christian and wondered if anyone had good scriptures or verses or books or meditations that are helpful for them.

Thanks in advance for being my sounding board.  I hope & pray that I can keep up my motivation and determination to beat this thing once and for all!!
