Touchy subject if you are at all shy about potty talk please abstain.

Sorry for more potty talk but i have another question in the same area. I was just wondering if anybody else has experienced this or if somebody knew if it is normal or not. I have started taking meds as needed since the beginning of the week. And since then i have noticed a drastic change in the color of my urine. And i mean drastic! I was a bit freaked to see the difference this morning. Can anyone help me and let me know if it is ok? Anyway, thanks!

And another one! Another gross post Beware

There was also something else that has been bothering me lately. It has to do with my gag reflex. It seems that the more anxious or nervous or close to panic i am the more sensitive my gag reflex is. Which means that it is hard for me to brush my teeth. In fact, if i am nervous enough as i brush my teeth my gag reflex is activated and i loose my luch. Then i have to try it all over to make sure my mouth is clean! Now in a regular day this gets real annoying plus it means in keep have to eat meals (breakfast most often ) twice. But i can't just not eat and i can't just not brush my teeth. I was just wondering if anybody else had experienced something like this and what tips they could give me to help with work around it. Well thank you all :) -Diva

The movies!

For a long time now i have been afraid of going to the movies. I dont know why, i just got real panicky at the movies. Today, my Brother called me and asked if i would go to the movies with him. I tolfd him how it made me nervous but we set it up so i felt like i could leave anytime and he would understand. Mostly i talked to myself and told myself i could do it. That it was no harder then what i had done in school the other day. I got ready and went with my brother to the movies. We even stopped at a huge Crowded store first. My brother talked to me and kept me real distracted at the store and i was ok. At the movies i was also ok. We chatted till the movie started and the movie was great. It felt nice to have fun and socialize and do something like anyone else would do and have fun! I am really happy at the moment. Up to now it was a good day :)

Thereis hope yet.

Ok this is not my story but this success story helped me a lot to have hope so i want to share it with you. As i mentionned in some post or other, anxiety runs in my family basically. And one of my aunts has had panic attack disorder. I remember her lying on the bed thinking she was dying.... It was really bad for her. Well she saw her doctor and she did the medication thing and the psychologist thing. With the help of the medication and the therapy she is doing well. In fact, she is doing great! I just spoke to her today and this is why i thought of sharing this with you guys. She now has a beautiful child and she teaches full time in primary school. She is having the time of her life. She says she is very happy and her life is really pleasant. She takes zoloft (25mg) everyday. She figures it is like a vitamin but for her brain. It helps keep things in balance in her brain. The rest she keeps in balance with healthy living and a good lifestyle. Anyway, she is doing really well. Even when her life takes rough turns she is more able to deal with it. When i look at her i really feel hopeful because i remember how bad it was for her. It makes me think, hey! I can do that too. So hang in there all of you. There is hope yet. This too shall pass! -Diva^^

NEED REASSURANCE AND ADVICE

Hiya maggie, it seems you have been having a bad day. I sure do know how that feels. All those things you worte about i can relate to. The fear of going out of your mind or the fear of anything really, moving getting off the couch, just anything. I know how that is. But i really and truely beleive that you can do it. Working through the program helps. Just talking or writting is good also. I think that as long as you keep wanting to get better there is hope for you. I really do beleive in you and your capacity to get better and heal yourself. As for the withdrawal, well with some types of meds withdrawal is possible. But on the subject of medication i only have two things to say. The first is talk to your doctor he is the best to explain and advise you on this. Get a second opinion on it if you need. But if you do feel the need for medication it is ok. If you needed insuline to correct your blood sugar levels would you make yourself feel bad about it? Probably not. Well why would you feel bad for taking something that helps with the balance of brain chemicals in your brain? Of course the meds aren't a magic pill. Working through the fear is part of it too. But if the pills enable you to work through the fear, go through the program and come out on top on the other side well then i beleive it is good. But that is just me and i am no expert. Just another panic-ridden individual. I know some nights like this are just really bad. All i can say is that you are in my thoughts. And that i beleive in you that you can make it through and be well and calm. Just keep doing deep-breathing exercises and taking it one moment at a time. I also find distraction helps. Any kind of distraction. T.V., movies, reading good books, researching something interesting, coloring, drawing. I find if you keep your mind busy it helps. And time goes faster. Anyway, i wish there was anything else i could say to help you feel better and help you through this. I wish you the best and hang in there. When you reach the end of your rope make a huge knot in it and hold on to that. And remember : This too shall pass! Keep hope -Diva
