E Cigarettes with 0mg Nicotine....STILL HARD!

HELP....Today is DAY #4 of NO NICOTINE...I am having a hard time with this...there are times that I crave the nicotine and almost through this all away.  I WILL STAY ON THE RIGHT ROAD...but how long does the withdrawl part take?  I have been using the E Cigrettes that carry NO NICOTINE or OTHER TOXINS.,  I did my research on all of the first.  I have to quit smoking for 4 weeks and then get a blood test from my doctor to have surgery...reconstruction due to cancer.  I know some will say that this will only make it harder smoking the ECigarettes but it really has helped.  I only smoke it outside as if I were smoking.  I have NEVER made it past 30 hours MAX with out smoking...so it is working for me...Also how long does it take for the Nicotine to leave your blood for a blood test...I want to get this test as soon as possible...but will remain smoke free...JUST NEED SOME WORDS TO HELP ME PLEASE?  God Bless You All....and THANKS for anyone that can help me....I NEED IT!

E Cigarettes with 0mg Nicotine....STILL HARD!

Breather....this IS FOR ME!  I have faced cancer so many times and managed to still stay alive...and still smoke.  This last bout about killed me...Breast cancer #2 surgery after a bilateral mastectomy in 99...so lost implants and tissue again in 10-10.  Dr told me he would not do surgery on me until I was nicotine free for 4 weeks.  I had been wanting to quit...but to have the reconstruction just gave me a bigger push...yes it is hard...but I am DETERMINED to get through this....when do the cravings STOP??? I am a basket case...I just wanna cry and have a cigarette...but there are none here and I tell myself I have made it this far...so will the nicotine be gone in 4 weeks??? I would love to get the blood test and have this surgery started sooner...and NEVER SMOKE AGAIN!

Thanks for the words of encouragement!

Ashley:

Question
1.) When do you feel most alive?  Where are you?  What are you doing? And what is it like?

I would love to answer this one....of coarse this is my here and now answer....as one never knows what the next day might bring with this addiction.

I feel most alive when I am with my grandson.  We can be anywhere.  When he asks me questions on what something is that he can not see very well and I tell him and he wants to touch it or smell it that is the best things to be doing.  It feels like God brought me this Beautiful Grandson to help teach him to see things not only through eyes but through all the senses of your body.  He is visually impaired and goes to a Blind School.  He is 3 and HE shows me everyday that I do not need to smoke and damage my body...he did not smoke and he still was born with disablities...I want to he clear and free like he is.  I LOVE HIM SO MUCH....ok sorry for rambling on...but wanted to share....

Breather:
THANKS!  I do need to hear the words that I can do it...through the tough times.  I have told many people who say they want to quit about your H.A.L.T.  I know I say it to myself EVERY SINGLE DAY!  It really has helped me...I have had to tell myself a few times on the ANGER one...."Stop and walk away...don't let this break you down to smoke!"  It has helped me alot....Lonely was hard for me on Sunday also.  I was born on Father's Day (51 years ago)...the only girl of 3 kids...and when my daddy passed away I was lost...this year was hard as it was Father's Day and my birthday....so I cried and felt VERY LONELY....had to tell myself that my daddy would not want me to slip...so I kept telling myself...I got through it.  I AM SO HAPPY!  It has been 4 hours since I woke up and I usually would have smoked at least 5 cigarettes by now and I have not even used my E Cigarette!  The nicotine crave is so much better....it is the MENTAL that is messing with me alot...Thanks for your great help Breather!

Smoking Spouse

Well Ashley...funny you bring this up today...I was just wondering about how to post something regarding this!

I have QUIT, however my boyfriend is TRYING as he calls it haha BUT he has not QUIT.  He works out of town Mon-Fri...so there is no smoke around during that time.  I was told I had to quit smoking to to an upcoming surgery...which really just gave me the strength to finally quit as I have been wanting to.

This is the way we work it.  Since I can not have ANY second hand smoke as it still contains NICOTINE... and I need to NICOTINE FREE!  So he smokes the E Cigarette when in the bedroom...when he has smoked for YEARS at his house...still smells like smoke in there! But he does go out and smoke also.  He said he is not strong enough.  I just think he is not ready.

So the way we work it is...he smokes outside and washes hands and brushes teeth and sprays body spray..haha

NOW MY QUESTION IS....if someone smokes...does the smell of the cigarettes that stays in the clothing, bedding....does that give you NICOTINE in your body?  He has not smoked in there in 2 weeks but it still smells like it because it is inbedded in everything.  I want to be NICOTINE FREE AT ALL TIMES...any help would be greatly appreciated!

MY THOUGHT ON YOUR POST:  If you are REALLY READY TO QUIT...YOU WILL.  My daughter smokes outside and her cigarettes are in reach to me...but I am NOT going to go there.  I have a DRIVE THAT IS PULLING ME TO STAY NICOTINE FREE.  You have to think if YOU FIRST....then it all seems to work together...in my experience...I only have 8 days NICOTINE FREE...but I am STAYING STRONG...Thanks to this board and the people I have met here!  THIS IS THE BEST SUPPORT THERE IS OUT THERE!  THANKS FOR THIS BOARD!

Ashley...The cravings does not seem to care about who is around or what is going on when they come...but I have to let myself know where I started.  Even if it was 1 day prior...that was 1 day I could never get back if I did smoke.  Yes my grandson is a BIG HELP in the no smoking plan....his disabilities are many...and here I am damaging my OWN BODY...I would think I would have learned.  I have had SO MUCH CANCER...but always said it had nothing to do with smoking...wheather it did or not....I am DONE WITH NICOTINE...and want to grow up with my grandson...nicotine free. He has 3 years on me...but I will take that and stay nicotine free from now on.
