I need help!

Hi WantToBeFree2010 ~

I would like to apologize.  My previous post may have sounded a bit harsh and I didn't mean for it to come off that way.
You made a mistake, yes, but you are now learning from it and you need to move on and keep what you have learned close in your thoughts so you won't make the same mistake again.
This is your quit, no one else's, don't let what others think affect you.  Stand proud and ignore the nay sayers.  Quit beating yourself up and tell yourself that you won't make the same mistake (or any like it) again

You can do this

Everything Changes.... eventually!

HI!

I've been here for over 8 years now.  I've been banned from posting a few times because my thoughts and opinions didn't agree with others....

But one thing I've figured out along the way is that we are here to help each other quit nicotine.  Our main goal is to quit smoking and/or dipping.  We may make some friends along the way, trust me, I've made many and I love them all.  But we still have to remember what this site is for.. to quit nicotine and to help each other in that battle.

Hey, there's always facebook if people want to connect outside the quit, lots of us are in that group so do a search and find us.  But remember, this site helped many of us in the beginning of our quits when no other site would or could.  Let's pay our due respect to the SSC for all they've done to help us along our journey.

If it weren't for the SSC and all the information I got from the members and the site then I can't say for sure that I'd still be quit for this long

I'd rather be an ex-smoker occasionally thinking of smoking than a smoker constantly thinking of quitting......

My quit, starting at day 1.

hey there... if you wait for your mind to be in the right place to succeed then you'll never quit.  There is never a good time or place to quit.  We all have issues from work or family or significant others.... or the traffic on the way to work may have upset us... either way you have to give your craving 5-10 minutes to go away, and then keep doing that everytime you get a craving until you are finally past the point where you know you won't give in because you've given your quit your all and you don't want to have to do it all again..... then your pride kicks in and you won't allow yourself that one puff, that one cancer stick that'll end your quit all over again.
For me, a lot of it was pride but it was also the fact that I NEVER WANT TO GO THROUGH THE PAIN OF QUITTING AGAIN!!!  Sorry for the caps lock but I wanted to make my point

You can do this if you want to

Your age and Your Quit????

Ok, so I quit over 8 years ago.  I was 38 at the time and still had a great metabalism  ~  now, not so much.  I'm 46 now and in menopause   My metabolism has gone caput and so the weight gain has started.  I really don't want to frighten anyone because no matter if you smoke or not when you hit that "age" it's gonna "hit" you.
I just joined one of those major weight loss entities today and I even mentioned that if I had the willpower to quit smoking then I'd have the willpower to track my intake of food.  I know that we all deal with the extra few pounds from quitting smoking... but have any of you women had to deal with the addition of menopause and it's effect on your waistline after your quit??
I can breathe a lot better now than I could 8.5 years ago, for that reason (plus many more), I'll never smoke again.  I love to sing, and since I quit smoking I can hit higher notes and have a much better range than ever before.  So my point is that I'd never go back to smoking....   just wondering if any other women out there my age are having to deal with the same circumstances that I am and how did they cope?
