crazy dreams

wow. Bon Jovi...Scott...Jack....hmm...good things to keep in mind. last night was not as bad...i was standing on the street watching people smoke - looking at them and wishing it were me...then the dream became food related and woke up to a growling stomach...it's a trial for sure. thank you for the support and encouragement...Frankie...you will do fine...4 days is four more than none and you are on your way..i was on 4 once and now look at me...and same with you MJ...you will make it - if i can, anyone can. i will be eating many jellybeans this weekend for sure. i may be smiling but it's still not easy

hi there all of you non-smokers. a bit of venting here... so i am on day #50 and never thought i would make it this far. my husband and daughter are very proud of me which is helpful...BUT...when i express my 'wish i could have a cigarette right now' i am told "no you don't, you're just saying that...you're all done with that now" so although it may appear that i am handling things..it is still as much of a battle as it was 22 days ago - and although i am no longer smoking in my sleep - i still feel jealous when i see people standing outside their buildings smoking a cig and looking relaxed...so i am pissed that i still want one and pissed that my family thinks i'm 'just saying that'....it isn't easy and it's not fun and i should be able to say that anytime i want! hmmpf and snort. i feel better now. thanks. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/7/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 50 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,500 Amount Saved: $637.50 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 17 Mins: 53 Seconds: 25

i may be smiling but it's still not easy

thank you to everyone who has given me so much great encouragement and support...saturdays are tough...but i am getting stronger with each day....and yes...how can non-smokers know what it feels like to fight a constant urge they never had...so i will take the advice of the 'group' and say "yes i want one - but no i won't ever have one" to myself if i need to...i can use my filter :) if i have to and at least it's the correct one for a change...you guys/gals are the best and i am proud of all of us! thanks again... i may be smiling but it's still not easy

wow....a cruise...who'd of thunk? thanks so much.....must say this weekend was a test....17 year old daughter with college and prom issues...husband with well, husband issues...everything and everyone made me wish i were still a smoker...and then i went to the computer...read some of your posts and reminded myself of the big picture...and it is a big picture...the day to day is difficult indeed but i have come so far i cannot turn back now...last night i dreamt i was smoking again (the dreams went away for a while) and i am sure it is because i went to bed angry that i didn't have a cigarette as a crutch anymore...so i smoked in my dream and woke up happy that it was just a dream...sometimes i wonder if i am going insane but i have been told that if i think i am insane than surely i am not. yeeesh. all is good though..i am still here and still not smoking. love mai tai's. you are all the best! I'm physically tough, now I'm just going to get mentally tough

as long as you're tough...you're tough! GOOD LUCK. I have been dreaming about smoking...(i am a cold turkey quitter) and only recently have the dreams stopped...lately i have been having them again because the urges have been difficult and it is taking A LOT of willpower not to 'try just one little puff'..i went to sleep angry last night that i ever started this 'quitting thing'...smoking was easier (dumber, but easier). last night was a turning point i think...i dreamt i bought a pack of marlboro's...carefully ripped the little gold string...crinkled the cellophane and popped one into my mouth...i inhaled. right away i thought two things #1. wow, this isn't nearly as satisying as i had hoped it would be...and #2. oh no! what do i say to 'the group'...i have to start at #1 AGAIN..OH NO....when i woke up i was actually happy - i didn't blow it, didn't set myself backwards...i gave in to the urge in the dream and found it wasn't worth it...i had come too far....so Mental challenges are the tough ones now...the physical stuff goes away faster than we think...it's all the other stuff....people tell me "watch your triggers' but i am 50 - smoking my whole life (13 years old) so breathing and moving and blinking my eyes were a trigger...life was a trigger....it's all about being tough. come here often...it helps so much....it's this group that popped into my dream and gave me the extra push i need to keep up the fight! good luck! My Sign to Start Smoking Again

good story....nothing better than being faced with it and turning away...it's easy to say "i won't smoke" when we aren't staring at the cigarettes....i have an unopened pack on my table that i look at every day - it reminds me how strong i am...the world is filled with smokers - everywhere we look..we cannot stop them and we can't hide and we can't preach....we can only know that we are stronger than we ever thought we were and we can say no and mean it! very proud of you...you rock!
