Wednesday checkin' In

Hi there everyone! I am on day 21 and never thought i would get here..actually went to bookstore instead of library...very proud of myself and very thankful for the support of this group...i look often and read comments and feel empowered...last night was the first night that i didn't dream i was smoking so i actually woke up NOT angry at myself ;) the cravings are slowly going away and i might actually believe i can live my life as a non-smoker..which is unbelievable for someone like me. thanks all of you! I am (NOT) going to smoke!

Hi all! Sassy here on Day#26...never thought i'd get this far....i have been tested in all areas: the mail, the phonecalls, the good news, the bad news, giving and getting of both...the wait and sees and the should know soons....all accomplished without a cigarette....so for those of you who cannot believe it's two weeks - you can do it....and for those of you who have hit one more day than me....you are an inspiration and i am grateful there is somewhere like this to go to. onward and upward and not one puff ever! day #28

Day #28 and it has gone fast! each day is a bit better than the day before...friends still ask "still not smoking?" and i am finally able to say "never again, i am a non-smoker.." a few days ago, the answer was "yup..still not smoking". when i wake up in the morning there is still a few moments of weirdness...miss the first cigarette...then i realize that i don't smoke anymore...so many years of my life i have devoted to marlboro reds. i am visiting the bookstore tomorrow. i will stay strong. good luck to all my fellow non-smokers out there! thank you for the support! i check my stats every day and tape on my wall by my desk... Monday parade

Howdy all! i am on day #32 and really pissed off that i am doing this cold turkey. why did i choose this method? hmmpf and snort. i am no longer dreaming that i am smoking but am now dreaming that i reach for the cigs and stop myself...yeah! I get to be frustrated in life and asleep as well. i will make it though...how can i not? why does it seem a bit harder then it did 18 days ago? i think it's time for me to find a new snack food. but not one puff ever...this much i know. If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you have always gotten.

hi there! it's hard to believe how fast it goes...but it goes fast...each day of non-smoking is like a little mountain you climb....it says on your profile that you're a hiker and a swimmer...you are a disciplined person then and you can do this! when you get uncertain - log on and let us know and we can help you...i have been smoking forever...and now it seems like i never smoked....i still feel the urges and miss it but i know that i am missing something that never cared about me...what a waste of time...good luck....you can do it! crazy dreams

hello everyone. sassy reporting in. day #42. i am hanging in but getting a bit tired (no pun intended) of the bad dreams...i am smoking in the, coughing in them, stamping out cigs before husband gets home - waving away smoke - climbing mountains to get to them..fishing through sofas for change to buy them...i am busier when i sleep than when i am awake. i am cold-turkeying so i can't cut down on anything to see if this makes it better...part of me wants to hurry home to bed so i can smoke :) the smarter part of me simply asks...when do the smoking dreams stop? thanks for any suggestions you can offer... crazy dreams

just did. wow. very cool. "...But westward, look, the land is bright" okay. can get through it. i must admit...i have been writing more poetry withOUT the cigs which surprises me...and i only wrote TWO poems ABOUT the cigs...which scared me at first but who can blame me, right? thanks for this. hugely appreciated. I happen to have Billy Collins poem The Best Cigarette on the wall next to my desk at work...also inspiring. *i really appreciate the support of this group... Hello Everyone.

you can do it....i have been a smoker forever and am now on day #42...if i can make it..anyone can... keep reminding yourself that the cigarette is NOT your friend...no matter how comforting it has been for you - nothing good came out of it. it is not easy but you are correct - this group is helpful so come back to it as often as you need to...good luck...you can do it!
