Lady, My kids and I said a prayer for you when they went to bed. I'm going to bed now to, so goodnight, and may God be with you tonight. I know the weather inside you will be better tomorrow.

I'm just curious. When it comes to food, if you like the taste of something are you always supposed to like the smell of it, or can something smell bad to you but taste good?
i think the strenth of the smells are getting to me and nothing smells "good" yet. Maybe after a while, i will be able to tell if i like something or not, right now, i think it just surprizes me.

I don't know...
When I smoked, I often wondered if there was smoking in heaven and you could smoke all you want and didn't cost anything, and didn't hurt you.
The thing is... I think that heaven is probly a no smoking area, so I'm glad I'm quitting now...

First of all, why would you want to smoke and wear a patch? That doesn't make any sence, or am I missing something.
Second, when I wear a patch, it gives me a constant stream of nicotine. A cig. would give you a serge of nicotine. That is what I am trying to get away from. I don't think it would overdoes me because the first patch strenth is the same as about a pack a day, but I smoked two packs, so I'm sure it would be ok, but what a total waste. I don't understand why you would mess with it.

Nomad1973,
I slipped last weekend too! I reset my meter, or I would have 23 days now and I would know myself that that was not really true. I wanted to see how long it really was on my meter.
Slipping was the sadest thing that has ever happened to me and the stupidist thing I have ever done. I have such a hard time with the weekends, that this weekend I am really staying here a lot to get through.
We are all here for you, and resetting the meter is completly up to you because the meter is really for you anyways. Do what you think will help you in your quit.
Love,
Mama

Hey june-bugs, mama here checking in still smoke free. Good news and bad news. The bad news is I had a fight with my 13 year old today, good news, I didn't get a crave to smoke from it!
Also, good news, my daughter ran out of cigarettes and so today was her quit date. Last night she cleaned out all the cig stuff from her room, so I HAVE NO CIGARETTES IN MY HOUSE! I can't tell you how much easier that make it for me! She seems to be pretty ok too. She is only 16 so she hasn't been smoking 35 years like me and also only smoked about 1/2 a pack a day at the most.
So anyways, I think I will probly make it though the weekend!
Lovem

One thing I have noticed is that those of us that are already in a vulerable position for brain chemical imbalance (for instance, in perimenopause or menopause) seem to have a harder time with the depression and anxiety. I really think that the withdrawl confuses your brain chemistry.

This is my check in for this morning. I am feeling really pretty good and GUESS WHAT-MY DAUGHTER HAS DECIDED TO QUIT TOO!!!!
It's really kind of a funny thing because the reason she wants to quit is funny. When I quit, I told her that I wouldn't buy her cigs anymore, (she is not quite 18) and she had her grandmother buy her some. (she has a job so she could pay for them). Well, my mother bought her a carton of Kools, which are menthol and harsher than what we normally would buy. So she is not feeling well and the menthol is making her cough. I am certainly not going to tell her that she would be fine if she went back to our non menthol light brand!!!
So she is going to quit when she runs out. She smokes very little at this point so she may not have much trouble, but i told her if she does, I will gladly pay for some patches for her too. I am so happy that soon there will not be any cigs in my house. That is going to make it soooooo much easier for me!
Today is my doctors appointment and I am going to ask for Zyban too. I'll let you know how it goes tonight.
How is everyone doing?
Love,
Mama

Tylenol PM has the same active ingredient as benedril (sp?) so you would probly react the same way as you do to that, or if you have benedril handy, you can just use that too.
When I was cold turkey, I had a horrible problem with sleeping, but now that I am on the patches, I don't seem to have that particular problem.

meagain,
I tryed cold turkey and couldn't hack it so I slapped a patch on. If you are unsure, you can always change it. It's not nessisarily a permenant decision. You ARE allowed to change your mind, just not to smoking.
