Two weeks Yay!

yeaaaa niks, I know what you mean because right now, I have to go to the dentist and that has made me think about smoking. Just because I am very afraid of the dentist. But what good would smoking do? It wouldn't make the tooth quit hurting would it? That's what I keep telling myself.\ I also think about that non-smokers have these problems too and they don't smoke about it. I know that smoking would not make me any less scared. June-bugs Roll Call

Nomad, I'm really glad that you decided to reset your meter, because it feels a lot more honest doesn't it. I tossed about it too, but I decided that not reseting it would be like being a "secret smoker". Anyways, I have made it through hell week for the second time now and so will you, just stay with us. Jacko, welcome to the June-bugs, be sure to check in and let us know how you are doing. We will be here. If you are having a really bad time though, It's good to post on the relapse prevention threads because then you will get responses from everyone on the site. I read your posts ann, I'm so glad you made it thour and are feeling better. Hi Chuckb2, glad to meet you and congradulations on an awsome 3 days! Skiddo, I'm soooo glad we are both still here. June-bugs roll call

Here is my check in for today and if it is ok for tomorrow, I will start us a new thread for tomorrow with the same name. This one is already 9 pages! Anyways, I am still smoke free and have made it thought hell week for the second time. Tomorrow I have to go to the dentist and I am scared, so everytime I think about it I want to smoke. Now, what possibe good would that do? I don't know but I guess the stress is causing a craving. I went to my new church today and had a really great time again but next week there will be no meetings. Also, I will be on vacation, so that will maybe be hard, I don't know. Anyways, pray for me and this dentist thing, I am really scared. Weak right now

lashes, I have teenagers too and they really make it such a challange. But I ask myself, if I was smoking, I wouldn't like it any better than I do now and it wouldn't make them more co-operative either. It doesn't help to smoke. Also, non-smokers have teenagers and they get through it without smoking. Teens are really hard to have around when you are trying to guit, but my teen is quiting with me so we are both pissy. June-bugs Roll Call

Hi, Mama checking in. I am still smoke free and still dealing with some cravings. Mostly because I have to go the dentist today and have a tooth extracted and I am really really afraid of dentist. I will be better after it is over I am sure. I just have to keep telling myself that it won't help at all to smoke. As a matter of fact, the reason that my teeth are so lousey is because of smoking for 35 years. If that ends up being the only long term consequence, I will be doing good. Anyways, still not smoking. The times...they are a changin'

Isn't that true that the times are changing. I started in the 70s and yes, it was very acceptable. Everyone seemed to smoke, and teenagers, although it was illegal for us to buy them, no one paid a lick of attention to that. You could smoke anywhere and everywhere, and everyone did. Now, that being said, I am trying to think of that as the "bad old days" not the "good old days". Those are the days that got us so addicted and fond of smoking. I think that the changes are positive changes for future generations. June-bugs Roll Call

Checking in for Tuesday. Still going strong and actually feeling pretty good. I have a dentist appointment on wend. that I am feeling stressed about but I think I have finally completely convinced myself that smoking wouldn't help the stress so not even thinking about it. I'm still scared half out of my wits though. We'll see how it goes but non-smokers have dental problems too and they don't smoke about it! My daughter, Melony, has three days quit today and I am so proud of her. She has no interest in the boards but I signed her up so she could have a quit meter. She is going cold turkey. STAY QUIT JUNE-BUGS!!! My daughter decided to quit too!!!!!

Hey, my daughter has three days complete now. I put her in on the site only so that she could have a quit meter to look at. She is not interested in the board at all, but she has three days, she went cold turkey and so she has no nicotine in her body!!! How about that. My quit, hard as it has been is doing some profound good! We are stopping the family cycle of alcohol and smoking! I am touched beyond belief by this, and now, I absolutly must not fail! June-bugs Roll Call

Mark, Welcome, we are really a pretty good group of quitters. We have already been through a lot together. It is the end of the month and I have been through hell and heck week twice!!! Now wasn't that silly and stupid of me? But I made it. We have really had some tough craves and posted for help. I think that at the end of the day today, I will see if I can go through and retreve all of the names and then we can see who we might have lost and who we still have. I will need to have some time to go through it though so I will go through this thread tonight and do it. So if you are a lurking June-bug that hasn't posted on this thread yet, post today and I will pick you up on the list tonight.
