Struggling Question

Hi there Mountain! I ditto the responses here. You are doing an AWESOME job in your quit!!! 83 days are something to be proud of!! That just doesn't happen to people who aren't "ready" to quit!! I truely believe that your junkie is talking to you right now. You need to ignore him. Throw those thoughts out. That junkie has no place in you. You can beat him. You can win, heck, you already have 83 days over him. Knock him down!! I did not prepare for my quit either. However, I grew into my quit. I accepted that I do not smoke. I do not think of "missing" smoking. Keep doing what you are doing!! Stay strong!! You are doing GREAT!! Hubby has slipped

Hi Dottie, Well, unfortunately, I cannot offer much advice to you right now, as I am in the same boat. I am the one who posted Betrayed. All I can say, is please read the responses I got. People who responded really do care. Awesome advice. I need to read, and re-read them to get it into my thick skull........... Please, keep strong. I'm up against the fight too. Seeing my hubby smoking, well, thoughts begin to enter.......... Right now, I just stay away. I don't want to watch. Your hubby keeping the pack away from home is great. He sounds very proud of you, and very supportive. As well, he should be!! You are doing wonderful in your quit. Never give up!! Please promise that if you think of smoking, you will come here first and post. Wait for responses. Listen to their words. Stay strong!! Betrayed.......

THANK YOU AGAIN EVERYONE!!! Ya' know, I never really put this anger up against my quit. I never really thought it would come into play. I have been so angry and all of my thoughts have been on HIS quit. I realized this yesterday. I walked into my garage, and there was 3 friends of ours, and my husband outside smoking and all drinking beer. When I walked out there, I took a deep breath and enjoyed the smell, well, only for one breath. Then all of a sudden, CRAVE..... so I removed myself. I went back inside and got a water bottle. I downed the whole thing! Then I went out back and took a deep breath... AAAHHH..... no smoke!!! Then I came and sat my butt down at the computer. The craving only really lasted about 45 seconds. That is how long I was out in the garage. I know my quit wasn't in jeapordy, but between my hurt, anger, and my swaying mind, I allowed a crave to enter. My hubby is going to be okay. He mentioned being hypnotized again!!! He knows he wants to quit, he is just waiting. So, I know he will give it another try. When he brings it up again, I will suggest going to see the doc to try meds, as well as the patch. Even if he quits, slips, and tries again..... No matter how many times, it doesn't matter. What matters to me is that he is trying. He cares enough about himself to give it a shot. I have said extra prayers for him. I pray for him to find the strength and love in himself to rise above this. I will keep on reaching for my dream of health, for ALL of us!! Maybe it is time for a "couples" reward??? I know I need to reward myself, do you guys think it is okay to spend my reward on the two of us -- maybe take us out to dinner?? Or treat both of us to a pedicure?? (Both him and I have achy feet. All this extra weight is hitting us hard!!!) :quest: My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 65 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,963 Amount Saved: $212.55 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 6 Mins: 22 Seconds: 33

Doing It May 10 2006

Hi there!! May 10th is a very special day. It is a day of a new life for you. My daughter was born on May 10th. Funny, but I have to share a story with you. The day I found out I was pregnant was September 11, 2001. When I walked into the doc's, and elderly man was sitting down in the chair. I had my other daughter with me. He looked at her, and said "It is so nice to see such a huge smile on a day like today. It makes us know that life will go on, regardless." I didn't realize what he was talking about until I returned home and turned on the tv. Not sure why I posted that, but I just wanted to let you know that May 10th is a great day. A new life was born, and a new life will be re-born!!! Congratulations on hopping right back on!! Stay strong! Day 1

Hi Let Go!! You can do this!! Please, take it one minute at a time. It really does make it manageable. The program tools to the left are an important part of your quit. If you haven't already done so, please take the time to complete them. And just like Lady said, please come here and vent. It is not your loved ones fault that you are going through this. We are here to support and guide you - through thick and thin. Post as often as necessary. And I'm sure, since you have been here since 11/05, that you have read older threads. But if not, they are very helpful as well. So, grab lots of water, hard candies, and determination and lets walk this road together!!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 66 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,993 Amount Saved: $215.82 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 8 Mins: 16 Seconds: 35
