Hey there Jonser,
I'm sorry, I cannot relate to the "hell" that you've been feeling. I remember my 7th day. I was so happy. I felt good. My skin looked better. I smelt better. I could actually smell the shampoo in my hair. I could, fir the 1st time, sit and watch a movie.
There are so many positives that you are forgetting to notice!! Stop fighting your addiction. Reach towards the bright side. But, you have to change your mind set.
Sourround yourself with positives. Do and think positive. Buy a book on the subject. Listen to your fav cd's or create one of your own. Anything that is positive.
The main factor: REWARD yourself. Again, if you just did. It is so important to do that, especially for the first month! I use my not smoking to NEVER deny myself anything. So I am rewarding myself all of the time.
You can do this. Be strong and fight. Keep fighting. It is all well worth it in the end. Nothing comes easy. You need to want this. Re-read your reasons to quit. Make new commitments for when these craves come on. If you change them to a positive it will help boost your esteem. You will feel happier and lighter. No heavy weight on your shoulder (just a little one). The more power you give to your addiction, the more it has over you. Don't let it. Take the control back. :)

Welcome panache33uk!
I strongly agree with Casey. You should take advantage of the tools to the left if you haven't already done so.
Welcome your new life! Congrats on your decision! :)

Hi Momof1girl,
It's been a while since we've talked!
I know where you are coming from. I live in a relatively small city and my family does too. My parents live only 3 minutes away.
I remember when you 1st came here. I told you that I too hid my smoking from them. (I think yours was your in-laws??) I was always fearful that one of them would just pop in. Somehow, I made it a habit to have them call first. Most of the time they did. Only a few occasions that my dad popped in to visit. Scared me every time!!
Anyways, living close to your family could be a blessing. The way I think about it, I have a baby-sitter always close at hand. My kids love staying over there, and some days my mom calls and asks if she can take the girls to the movies. Its wonderful sometimes - a moment of peace.....
I make it a point not to talk to them everyday. We do talk a lot, but not everyday. My parents are very opinionated. It sooo irrates me..... so I have to back off. But that's okay - I'm usually busy anyway.
There is not much you can do. Be careful if you approach the subject with them, but definately, do say something about boundries. You'll stress yourself out if you dont.
Hang in there! We are here for you! :) :)

I'm sorry you were feeling so upset today.
It usually seems like a smooth ride for a while, and then, when you are soooo tired and just wiped out, all hell breaks loose.
I'm glad you can rest now. Take care of yourself.

Hello Bambi,
I have heard that the more times you quit, the easier each quit gets.
You have to learn each and every time why you slipped. And prepare for those situations the next time you quit.
Don't beat yourself up. Just pick yourself up; dust yourself off; and jump right back on the wagon.
Be stronger than the addiction. Stop fighting it and start controlling it. Take your life back!!!!! You can do it!! :)
