The Magic Ship Continues!

Good afternoon all, And thanks for having me aboard. I have been going over the 'copter, seems to be running about as well as the 24 car. No smoke coming from the engine, at least. I am here, at your service, and will do what I can to keep the ship afloat and spirits soaring high. Looking forward to the journey... Did I say Journey? Let's all sing.... "The mist is slowly lifting The sound of life misplaced your mind You're sitting, spellbound thru out time I hope that you remember what you find Singin' more of a lifetime You put it down-all that I'm thinking But take a long and distant search, when all is right You take for granted You can't look down but you're no worse. Singin' more of a lifetime The countless visions that are drifting The silver dreams you hate to lose. There's no harm. We've all been waiting. Well keep your faith. Do what you choose. Singin' more of a lifetime" ---Journey Enjoy the weekend all! The Magic Ship Continues!

Good morning all! Slept like a little baby last night. The cabins on this ship are so comfy! Not even a little urge to smoke upon awakening (well, maybe a little one). Now, can someone please direct me to the caffeine? I'm still learning my way around. The chopper will be ready to go at noon, arriving in sunny Daytona in plenty of time to see the race. I was able to arrange tickets for anyone who doesn't have one. (The Capt. hooked me up) Keep an eye on the Toyota cars...MW is my favorite. The weather is sunny but cool, not bikini weather, drat! Well, I made it to day 5, who'd have thunk it? Want to say thanks to all of you and others on this site, you have helped more than you know. It's nice to sail with you all. Here's a song from long ago, appropriate for beginning non-smokers...and the sailing crowd...can anyone NAME THE ARTIST for a chance to meet your favorite driver before the race? (hint: sang with other famiy members) "If, when you're running It seems the wind is always in your face, Just keep on running, Cause the wind, the wind is bound to change" Got to go gas up the copter. See you at noon! I Slipped

Hi Tutti, Keep in mind that we are all only one puff away. In fact, my secret stash of 2 cigs is in my car, out of sight, but there for security. I am hoping on day 7 my reward will be to give them a proper burial, if I am ready. Ok, so you slipped. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again. You can do this! Everyone on this site will help you. I had one sleepless night when the urge was strong, and I just started reading the posts until it passed. Must have read about 100 or so, but I didn't smoke. Keep trying, its worth it! The Magic Ship Continues!

First, my heartiest congratulations to LadyCigevictor...you are an inspiration! Great party, keep soaring. (at attention, and saluting) To the Capt: Great choice for the next leg of the trip. I understand that Martinique is famous for it's world class RUM, and I am looking forward to sampling(now that I know I can have a drink or 3 without smoking). Hope you have a good round of golf. Be nice to your caddy! Okay all, leaving for Daytona, all aboard....and please don't forget my wine! To those who aren't joining us, have a ball whatever you are doing, and we will catch up with you later. Don't leave port without us, we may be delayed by those cute NASCAR boys. MomMom

new medication advice needed...

Hi SweetT, I haven't experienced any nausea but I have been careful to take it after eating something, and drinking a lot of water and tea (i know, not the best choice). However, I was wondering the same thing today. What happens when you stop taking it? I plan on doing the first 3 months, but honestly, I don't know if I will need even that much time with the pills. Our friends here will let us know what they have experienced when quitting. The Magic Ship Continues!

(yelling) R A I N I E! Welcome back. Whether it's just a pit stop or if you're here for the race, we are glad to hear from you. I was thinkin' today (a dangerous thing) about what makes this site so great...how we can be anyone, or anything, we want to be, for a minute, an hour, days, months, or years. Who ever thought I would be a helicopter pilot? Or sail away with so many great people? There is also the freedom (there's that word again) to just be ourselves, warts and all. We can be happy, worried, silly, sad, angry, sick, depressed, PMS'ing (Freemom, I remember those days...faintly)or ramblers and cravers. But we all have two thing in common...we are successful non-smokers, and we really care about each other! I certainly appreciate all of the support, and the great information that is available here. We can ask anything! I am so glad I found this site and all of you clever, imaginative people on this ship and on this journey. And the music today has been superb! Is everyone feelin' music in their bones? But for every good thing, there is a price to pay. In my case, it's what I won't do for a darn string of cheap plastic beads. So today I feel daring... Ok.....here goes (Flashes her biggest smile) I'd like the blue ones please, to go with my hot pink bikini. I have an idea. Madame social director, how about a talent show? I am sure we all have some hidden talents...I didn't know until today that the Capt. plays the harmonica? I'll participate, but I'll have to find my talent. I think I threw it out with my stash. Anyway, it could make for a fun evening on the ship for those without other plans. We can all sit around with a beverage and not smoke together and have some laughs. Have a great non-smoking evening everyone. I am here if you need to fly off any where. Rainie, you just holler if you need a lift. The Magic Ship Continues!

Good morning everyone, welcome to Tuesday! I have question...it seems that the times I want a smoke most are always mid-morning, mid-afternoon, and mid-evening. (I'm just a mid-kind of gal). It seems to be pretty consistent at these times each day. Is this common? I kind of expected to get the craves at various times throughout the day. I really thought giving up the first one in the morning would be the toughest, but it wasn't really. Are my craves supposed to be "scheduled"? Speaking of schedules, when are we expected to arrive at wherever we are headed...Martinique, Barbados,...wherever? I love being on the water, but I do need a smidge of gas for the helicopter...just getting ready for the weekend... the upcoming race is in CA, we would need to refuel along the way... On March 11 the race is in LAS VEGAS! We have to make that one. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, right friends? That means no pics, Rainie. Well, maybe a few innocent ones. I'm puttin a little known Bob Seger tune on for us...maybe some will recognize it....I love Bob Seger! Have a great day and stay strong...it's day number 7 for me! MomMom (MomMom is singing along, somewhat quietly) Take away my inhibitions Take away my solitude Fire me up with your resistance Mmmm put me in the mood Storm the walls around this prison Leave the inmates Free the guards Deal me up another future with some brand new deck of cards Take the chip off of my shoulder Smooth out all the lines Take me out among the rustling pines Til it shines Ahh till it shines Like an echo down a canyon Never coming back as clear Lately I just judge the distance Not the words I hear Ive been too long on these islands Ive been far too long alone Ive been too long without summer In this winter home Still if we can make the effort If we take the time Maybe we can leave this much behind Til it shines Mmmm til it shines See the rich man lost and lonely Watch him as he dines Sitting there just testing all the wines Til it shines Til it shines My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/14/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 6 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 193 Amount Saved: $29.1 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 21 Mins

Think Gas is a side affect?

OMG, I can't stop reading this post...I am laughing so hard I think I wet myself. You guys are hysterical! I do not have the gas problem (any more than normal) butI do have to admit that my smeller is working much better than a couple of weeks ago. I don't know if that's a good thing or not....can someone open the windows in here...and get out the Lysol? The other day in a desperate moment I went looking for second hand smoke but didn't find any. Today I accidentally found some. As much as I used to love the smell of a newly lit cigarette, so pungently sweet, but today it smelled awful! Then I walked down the hall behind a smoker, and I can't believe I smelled that bad for so long and nobody said anything about it to me. And I was 5 feet behind the person. Just one more reason I will quit. I don't want to stink like that. Keep climbin' that mountain all...I'll see you at the top.
