The Magic Ship Continues!

Hi Fellow Cruisers! Happy Birthday again, Faith! Hope you are improving by the minute! Hope everyone is feeling better...when you hurt, I hurt too. It's so much nicer when everyone is up and running around, drinking wine, fishing, snorkeling, eating chocolate, playing harmonica, dancing, changing bikinis, shopping, etc. etc. etc. LIFE IS GOOD here on the way to Quit, but better when we are all enjoying ourselves. A couple of craves today, mostly shortly after a meal. I kicked them to the curb, and I hope they never come back, fat chance. I ran out of Exedrin PM so didn't have one last night, and guess what? The cool dreams came back! I had missed them! Where else can I get such cheap entertainment (except maybe here, no offense). I am seeing a lot of folks I haven't seen in a long time. LOL. Alrighty now, who is here to PARTY????? I see a crowd gathering...are the semi-naked boys here yet? I have lots of dollar bills, some baby powder, and towels....just in case they get a little sweaty whilst entertaining us. I heard a rumor that the Capt. was actually going back to his cabin to put on his Speedos to give us a little dance before he goes...any truth to that one? Just to get this party started, how about a little Lionel Ritchey? What is happening here? Something is going on That's not quite clear Somebody turn on the light We're gonna have a party It's starting tonight Oh, what a feeling! When we're dancing on the ceiling The room is hot...that's good Some of my friends came By from the neighbourhood People were starting To climb the walls Ooh, it looks like everybody Is having a ball Everybody starts to lose control When the music is right If you see somebody hanging around Don't get up right The only thing we wanna do tonight Is go round and round And turn upside down Come on, let's get down So come on, let's get loose Don't hold back Because it ain't no use Hard to keep your feet on the ground Because when we like to ball it We only want to get down What? you say what? It's love now... Just get started Everybody clap your hands, come on Everybody have sense... I hope someone remembered the camera! Do you see what I see over there in the corner? Whoa! Got to run for a bit.

Quit date Feb 24 2007

Welcome Pepper! Chantix user here, too. The medication is working for you, just like it's supposed to! It will take care of the "need", but you have to take care of the "want". Keep reading and posting, there is a lot of good stuff (and fantastic people) here! Good luck! The Magic Ship Continues!

Rainie You are my very favorite non-smoking official ship photographer. I've been called a lot worse than mom squared, trust me! Glad you are feeling better. I made it through day #9 so far. The Magic Ship Continues!

I have a question...is it possible to become addicted to chocolate? Stop laughing, I mean really addicted to it? It seems to be the only thing that can really get me through my craves. I've tried the licorice, straws, toothpiks, life savers, and anything that was in a nice "have one" bowl on somebody's desk, but only chocolate helps. You know, oreo cookies, choco. chip cookies, reese's peanut butter cups, the heart shaped box of valentine's chocolates (the whole box), the Hershey bars that you are supposed to be selling for the kids, chocolate muffins from the cafeteria, tastykakes from the machine (now we'll see who knows what tastykakes are)....and that was just today! LOL I even found some kisses left over from Christmas and ate them too. Pretty soon I will have another reason not to smoke, because my arm won't be long enough to reach my mouth! Will I eventually have had enough and not want any more? (I cant believe I actually asked that question). It has nothing to do with the time of the month....I am way past that. When I crave...GIVE ME CHOCOLATE...or get outta my way! Other than that, all is well, all bodily functions are working normally. Same appetite (you would think I wouldn't eat anything but chocolate, huh?) I am drinking more than usual.......not alcohol, and more water than usual. Maybe I am just insane. LOL I can still fly the magicopter...just bring a little chocolate with you. Nurse29, Gertrude Hawk will be just dandy! Have a great weekend all. I predict it shall be an easy one for all of us. Need to share

Rose, I had a stash of only 2 smokes, and I trashed them. Not quite as ceremoniously as you did, but had I thought about it, I might have. Good job! I, too, have thought "nobody would ever know", but too many people are pulling for me, and I want to prove to myself that I can do it. Keep up the great attitude! Inspire us! The Magic Ship Continues!

Julie, I am so sorry about your friend. Go ahead and feel bad for a while, but remember to celebrate the lessons he taught you during his wonderful life while also celebrating your own smoke-free one! NASCAR on Sunday in sunny California. Meet at the helipad at Noon sharp! Since it's a long way, we are going to fly to Caracas where I have arranged for a corporate jet complete with our own young, good-looking, muscular, sexy, handsome, broad shouldered (Earth to MomMom) designated pilot to fly us there, and back! Expect to be pampered, lots of amenities will be on board, and lots of CHOCOLATE. It does seem that the Capt. is conscious of all of estrogen and other raging hormones on this ship. He (and Phil) are spending more and more time ashore or in their cabins. Maybe we should do something nice for the boys? The Capt. did throw a great party for Faith's birthday. Any ideas? Since we are in to the oldies, see if anyone other than me is old enough to sing along with this one: (gawd, did we think this was GREAT music?) I told the witch doctor I was in love with you I told the witch doctor I was in love with you And then the witch doctor He told me what to do He said that Ooo eee,ooo ah ah ting tang Walla walla, bing bang Ooo eee ooo ah ah ting tang Walla walla bing bang... Ooo eee ,ooo ah ah ting tang Walla walla ,bing bang Ooo eee ooo ah ah ting tang Walla walla bing bang Repeat chorus a few times, sing another verse that I forget, and repeat the chorus a few more times. The end. --David Seville I tried to sing "The Name Game" (Shirley shirley bo birley etc.) but somehow it doesn't work too well. LOL Hey all, enjoy the weekend, take a break from the work (but not from your quit)and enjoy some fresh air...hope it's warm and sunny wherever you are! ~~chanting quietly~~ "Go Michael, Go Michael, Go Michael"

7 Days Smoke Free

Congratulations! I am not that far past 7 days myself, and how proud you must be. Stay strong! There may be more hard days ahead, but the way I looked at it (and still do) was for each hard day or crave, it meant it was one less to go through later. One step at a time....you can do it. Sneak attack on Day 8

Thanks to everyone for your helpful suggestions. Rest assured, I WILL NOT SMOKE today, or any other day for the rest of my life. This afternoon is a little better so far, I think lunch helped (lots of rabbit food). I would be much happier if I could just leave work now (yeah, like that's possible: "Excuse me, I have to go home because I am craving a smoke")and crawl under the covers in my cozy flannel jammies and sleep until tomorrow. I am having the 'out of body' experience that others have reported also. This has to be the worst day so far. But it's only one day out of the rest of my life, tomorrow will be better I am sure. Thanks again, it's so nice to know that you are here watching out for me. I will return the favor, I promise!
