Hey Kev, thinking of you today!! Keep carrots, grapes (red ones are really good right now), sunflowers, and I personally love those listerene strips.

it works Scotty, DH and I quit together this month. Try and change your triggers now, it helps, exercise and water help, chantix was a miracle for me - but I still needed that mental strength.
Keep us posted! We are all here for you, and this board is an awesome place of strenth, I spent many hours here that first week.

Dee, DH and I were at the beach that first week of hell and we walked every night together, it really helped get us through some tense moments. It is also another coping skill to replace smoking, as is breathing, deep breaths, have fruit on hand - alot of good stuff in is season now.
Your sense of taste and smell will be coming in soon - this is awesome. I am addicted to lemons now - I put 6 of them in my ice water at lunch today. Wait staff thought I was bonkers I am sure. :)
Hang tough, if you have an evening crave come here to the board, I spent many hours here the first 10 days.

Cough, of course you can, we all can, we just didn't want to enough before. Read a bit around here and you will see you can do it.
My DH's motivation? he is 45, was checking his retirement $$, doing a calculator thing, and with his family heart history, weight and smoking he had plenty of money because he only needed it for 20 years. It said he would not live past 65 at the rate he was going.
It said if he quit he would live to 85. We both quit the very next day. We have retirement plans :)
Isn't that crazy that is what it took? We buried some one at work 2 years ago, lung cancer, we have some one going through chemo right now, throat cancer, I waved to them as I went to the smoking area. Crazy.
Every one has a different reason, I hope you find yours real soon, and when you do we will help.
