Scotty, I lost count of the times I have tried to quit. This quit is it. It is the one. I used EVERYTING I learned from my past failures. Don't feel bad about your past atempts. They may be the very instruments that work toward your benefit this time. Your gonna do it. Wait and see. Prepare, even though you are using chantix. Have things you will do when the craves strike. It could be anything you like. Replace those times with something else on a regular basis. It could be a walk.....a devotinal...a puzzle you put together...ANYTHING. In the begining when craves were hard I replace that morning cigarette with a devotional and coffee. The next hard time was after work!!!!!!!!!!! So...I would come home from work and power walk instead of smoke. Thank you all for the warm welcome and support. I am very excited to hear about the other Chantix users and the ease that they have had with their quit. This is day 8 on the chantix and the first to quit...so far so good. I just finished lunch and that little urge has crept in 3x's for an after meal cig but so far so good. Good luck to LightShine on day two. Later

it works Scotty, DH and I quit together this month. Try and change your triggers now, it helps, exercise and water help, chantix was a miracle for me - but I still needed that mental strength. Keep us posted! We are all here for you, and this board is an awesome place of strenth, I spent many hours here that first week. Welcome Scotty Most of us are here trying and hopefully succeding.. It's ok to come back and try again. When we are in trouble is when we decide to not try any more. Keep up the good work, It will all be worth it in the end. Hi Scotty, welcome back! I'm also doing Chantrix and 6/1 is my quit date. I'm positive we can both make this our last "try" and be successful. Hey Scotty, Just take it one day at a time and don't overwhelm youself. If you haven't gone through the workbook over to the left of this page, you need to work through it. It really helps to prepare you for your quit. You CAN do this and we're here to help you each step of the way. Keep reading posts and post a lot yourself. Make sure you have your coping skills lined out. Drink lots of water, have your hard candy/gum on hand, think of some things to busy yourself doing when a craving comes your way, and keep talking to us. You'll do great. Hi Scotty, Welcome back. Well, you know what to expect. I am determined to have this be my final quit also. I don't even remember how many times i have quit in the past 2 years; staying smoke free anywhere from 3 months to 2 days! No more yo-yoing back and forth anymore. It is like torture. We just need to get on with it and look forward to the day when we can say "I don't even think about cigs anymore". Ohhh, that will be a happy day! new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 96 Amount Saved: $20.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 15 Mins: 27 Seconds: 56

Hi Scotty! And welcome to your final quit. So many of us have "tried" before, and some of us are still "trying". However, many of us have just stopped "trying" and have succeeded in our quit. Stick around and share the journey with us...we've all been right where you are. Good luck with the Chantix...it was like a miracle for me.
