I have the same thoughts Sparky, not that I want to smoke, but that I will lose the quit. Others do, others on Chantix like me, it is scary. I shove those thoughts away and keep on quitting, one day at a time just like you are.
We are strong, committed and tough and we believe we will do this. I try to only listen to the positive voices in my head :)

Unhooked, I had the same anxiety over and over. DH was of the opinion to handle these things head on, he had me in a smoky oyster bar full of smokers on day 8 I think. I was almost in tears with frustration at him. Those were some bad days with the two of us quitting.
Anyway, we were at the beach and before we even got there I was apprehensive about the balcony. we would always go out there to watch the sunrise, the ocean, smoke, talk, drink etc....well we found other stuff to do :)
You will too, no matter what event you are approaching as a non-smoker, I just wanted to tell you I understand and once you do it, you will be so thrilled with yourself.
Have a blast!
bring some licorice, mints, etc....

Stickin, DH has the same problem, I had no idea it was connected to smoking until my dentist told me when I mentioned it. Very scary.

DH and I went to a 4th of July event last night, we were parked on the road with folks in our town and we decided all of them must smoke. We didn't know where to go to avoid it, there was no where smoke free outside.
A year ago we would have been among them with no thought or consideration to non-smokers, it is ironic.

Seamus, 3 days and the nictotine is gone, the cravings will go also - but if you keep smoking the craves will keep coming.
This is your life Seamus, of course you can do it.
Don't give up, try again, buy some mints, fruit, gum - get through the first week, 3 days, and you will start feeling as good as I do right now.
Come on Seamus - hang on a bit tighter.

Bresmama - that is awesome!! I wish I had seen your earlier posts when it happened, I remember that feeling - and I cried too. I think it was a goodbye my killer friend cry in retrospect. I buried those cigs in that emotional moment I think.
I am on chantix also, DH and I quit the same day.
Drinking is less fun for me now, alas, I used to love to drink wine and smoke, love it too much :) Now I seem to love water ;) anywhooo I have wine with dinner most nights, never had any issues with the chantix and haven't seen anything in the literature that came with my pills either.
How you feel right now will only get better!! No more wheezing, coughing, that little tickle when you lie down - all gone. I am thrilled for you and hope you have a great time at the wedding this weekend.
