I'm here too! 3/05 was my quit date! I am doing good. Yeah for me! But it does scare me that I am doing good. Still waiting around for a crash of life to hit me for the test. However, I have no intention or desire to ever pick up a cig. Saw some nasty pictures......... Never will smoke again!!!!!!!

Wow, 3 years! That is great!
Curious though, how is it? Do you ever feel like having "just one"? Does it ever go away? Or will we have this small black cloud over our heads for the rest of our lives, just waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike lightning on us?
Have many more questions, but I'm sure you can guess most of them. Just wonderin how life is 3 years quit??????? Any pointers you can give me, so that I can reach that long???

Hi there again!
Well, I just wanted to let you know that I am here for you. I will be by your side and I will watch your progress. I am always on my computer!
I thought when my hubby & I quit, all hell would break loose in our house!!! I thought about how I (and him) would treat the kids. I sure was wrong! However, I do praise the hypnotist for that. When we were hypnotised, we were told how to relax, how to breathe, and how to stay calm. I know the only reason our house isn't on fire is because of this. Other than that, we both went COLD TURKEY!! We have tried the patch before, but didn't like it. I cant have meds becuz of past siezures.
I know that not everybody can afford a hypnotist ($200/per session), but to us, we knew many people who have suceeded with it, so we saved up! If I didnt do this, I would definately find some sort of NRT, as you are in a situation that prevents you from showing complete despair!
It is sad that I cannot share my triumph with my family. But I have a lot of other support, so I make myself not think of it. Telling them would be worse.........
Whatever you choose, just know that we will all be here for you. Just keep in mind, it does get easier! My first 3 days were horrid! I felt like the craving lasted all day long. But I made a choice -- smoking was NOT an option. I chose life, health, and most important, my girls.
Stay strong, and post all of the time. Read old posts as well!

I agree with Lady. Being a supervisor is hard, but it would still be hard even if you did smoke. What would change? The AAAHHHH relaxed feeling you used to get, would be replaced by guilt and fear from losing your quit. Protect it. Smoking never solved anything.........
Congrats on a nice job at your age. Be proud of that. Many do not reach that level so young. Even though it is rough (to say the least) it is not forever.
Stay positive and strong! You can do it! ;)

Alexa,
Sorry you are having a rough start today. Just remember, you DO NOT smoke anymore. Be strong. I remember when my cravings felt like they lasted all days, no breaks. What I didnt realize is that I made them like that. I didnt use my tools. I didnt find something else to think about. All I did was dwell in the craving thinking how aweful it was.
Snap out of it! Quitting is hard. Unbelievably hard. But it is worth it. You have to fight though. You will see the light very soon. Just dont smoke. Dont put yourself through this again..........
Good luck, stay strong, and dont smoke.

Why, Why Why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today has been incredibly hard!!!! Really not sure why?
I think I am sick and tired of cleaning my house. Don't feel like doing dishes. Dont feel like laundry. Dont feel like picking up toys. Dont feel like doing anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Two people have stopped by our house with a smoke. I can smell it from the sidewalk. Boy, it smells good.
The wierd thing is I dont want to smoke. But why, now, am I getting this freaky thing of never smoking again? It's kinda wierd. I feel like I miss smoking......
I hate that...... I'm really confused because I do not want to actually smoke, but I am feeling these things.......
Can anybody let me know what I might experience these next few weeks? What have you gone through in weeks 3-6? If anybody remembers........
Thanks for listening.

Hi Chicken Little,
I am a cold-turkey quitter as well! It is very hard, but I wanted to quit. So can you!
I just have to say that you have to quit for yourself. You can have your 2 kids as your inspiration though. But you have to want to quit for you.... and you only.....
That was told to me when I quit, and I tell everyone I can!
Stay strong and take 1 day or hour at a time. Post often!
