Trying to stop

Mikey, Hi I'm Cheryl and I used Welbutrin (Zyban) for my quit. I loved it. This has been the easiest quit that I ever had. I began taking it 2 weeks before my quit date. One tablet aday the first week and two a day the second. I then continued at 2 a day for three months. Then we tapered it off. dropped to one a day for 2 weeks, then one every other day for 2 weeks, then stopped. It went very smoothly, and I would recommend it to anyone who is willing to try it. There will be others along who will tell you that they had some bad experience with it, but you will find that with any methode. So work it out with your Doctor and set your date. Day 4ers

Relapser, You need to work out a plan for each of those items that "caused you to smoke" so they won't catch you off guard this time. That is one thing you can not afford to be at this time (off guard). Go and write down what each was, and then come up with 5 other ways you could have handeled it. And really write the answers, somehow seeing it in print is a very powerful thing. Then as you prepare to face each of those situations once more, go over your list, and get prepared. One of the folks on here told of how they faced their first night out by taking an empty cig pack and covering it with affirmitive statements like, "I don't smoke" "Not one Puff ever" "One smoke, one smoker" and lots of others. Then filled the pack with gum and hard candies and put it where the smokes normally reside on their person. That is called having your coping techniques lined up. So get yours ready also. HELLO FROM A NEWBIE

Hi, I am not as far along as Katy, but I can agree whole heartedly...YES it does get easier. And not to long from now you will wonder why you thought it couldn't be done. I thought that way for almost 40 years. And look at me fly! That first week was all about the physical addiction, and this next one will be more about the mental stuff. Keep yourself busy. Don't let your hands be idle. Find something that you can carry around and fiddle with when you get a craving. Come on back when you can... New to site, but trying to quit again

Obrmom, Do you see what a great group of quitters you have joined? Some are barely walking on their journey yet, but they are willing to hold out their hands to you. So you latch on to them and stay togeather. You can make it if you just remember you are never alone. Mo and Denisey, you are about to end your first week. Congratulations what reward do you have planned for yourselves? Vickie just a couple of days to the beach, and brent almost a month and a half. I know the time is crawling for you people, but it seems like yesterday that you were joining. All of you keep doing what your doing, it seems to be working. Cheryl No Joking, I'm Still Not Smoking! And don't forget to always show your quit meter. THE BEACH (Century Club)

Katie- I thought I saw him hiding out among the surfboards in that rack over there. I need a couple of blankets and some beach balls for the games. I already have the volleyball nets set up. and the horseshoe pit for us non athletics. There will be a 5 am 3 mile run on the beach and then cuddles will have breakfast waiting on our way back in the gate. The water is always warm and Lady has the instructors ready for the boards and the waverunners. Right after lunch, we will have the orientation speeches and welcome lecture. Then you are on your own until dark when the action begins. Sweetpea- tune up that guitar please I heard some rumors regarding some tiki dancers being seen over the hill practicing............
