Morning, I have just figgured out why I am not here. It seems that when my Grandson was over on tuesday evening, he changed my electronic calendar and clock by the computer. I have however now fixed it, but somehow it just skipped over the chocolate. :confuse: (Like I needed that anyway) I just finnished this big class on inflamation and nutrition, crammed three days worth of information into 8 hours, so I will be sorting it out for the next week. Calling all February '06 Quitters!!!!

Hey guys and gals, You are doing fine. Just still being here means that you are making it through. The first part of the journey is tough. Just like on a road trip, this is where you discover how hard the seat is, what things are not in reach that should be, and how loud to play the music. Just remember that once you get passed the bumps, the ride is so nice. Plenty of fluids this first 2 weeks. Make some of them juice to help you keep your insulin levels in check. Driving in the car is a tough one to handle at first. You can actually see people smoking! and it will remind you that you are not. I think that I spent the first two months (when I was in my car) chewing on a cinnamon stick. Zero calories, a plesant taste (after you get used to it) slightly sweet, you can chew, or hold, or pretend to smoke it. It's all good. It beat straws for me. But I know that some people put a little cotton or something like it in their straws to create some resistance to draw against. Ice water to drink on, flavored with a little lemon if you like. Sing along with the radio. Loud as you want. What ever it takes to not light up. ANd smile alot. You can also carry a tooth brush to just dry brush anytime you want. Keep on Keeping on... your doing it. The Daily Diet Watch IV

Hey guys, Sorry, I did not mean to just drop out on you. Just not been having the best time this last week. No problem with smokes, but keeping the rest of my life togeather is taking all my energy. And there is none left for exercise or thinking about diet. Went to the gym once last week, and exercised at home another day. But food is either starving or pigging out, often in the same day. Don't worry, I will get it togeather again. Just gonna take another day or two of rest first. Then make a fresh start. Need a new mind set. Keep on ..... you know the rest. Cheryl

your valued opions please

Author1, What does your son think that you are going to get yourself into that you can't get out of? Self hypnosis involves deep relaxation. Not a coma. You don't become unconcious. It is a way of talking to yourself while you are relaxed to provide positive, constructive images in your thoughts to help you during moments of stress or dificult situations. Since you control what thoughts you are concentrating on, there is no concern that you can be made to do something you don't agree with (as if anyone could) Using self hypnosis is a great idea to help you relax. ANd to focus on a problem or area of concern. Try it! It takes practice to reach the required relaxation level. So don't get upset if you don't succeed right away. And your son doesn't have to know if you don't want him to. It doesn't leave a mark on you. LOL! As Missyfit explained, this is the part of your journey that takes place in your mind. The physical withdrawl is over, and the mental part of the battle is engaged. You need to take every thought under subjection. Retrain your mind. When it says, I need a smoke, you need to correct it. ( You no longer smoke, that is not an option. You are learning to live healthier, you are {stressed, hungry, lonely, angry, tired} name whatever it is and then deal with that. Banish the cig image as soon as it appears, and again any time it returns. eventually the message gets across. Just like with Kids. You are doing great. Keep on keeping on.
