Starting a new Habit of not smoking

18 years ago 0 38 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
This is a great place to begin your new habit. I am only four days in after 32 years, and I admire your positive attitude. Hang on to it. I must be having a harder time, but I keep telling myself, Hang on, Hang on-Just one more minute, and somehow the minutes add up. Good Luck. Bonbons

Instead of giving up smoking and always felling I have lost something. This time I have a new Spring in my step.I am starting a new Habit of not smoking.I am climbing out of the very deep nicotine trapp one craving at a time. Every time I get that sinking ,hungry feling for a nicotine stick.I count it as one less I have to suffer in my life And get up and do something around the house saying to myself, one less, one less, one less, one less. Thirty years of the drug nicotine TWO DAYS FREE FROM THE TRAP AND NEVER GOING BACK!!!!!!!!!! ;p

Hi wagtail- Congratulations on two days of a new beginning. You are on your way and you should be very proud. I am new to this and I know how hard the first days are. You sound very positive and that is great. It may not be that way every day; some days are very very hard. I hope your journey goes as well as your first two days. Good for you wagtail :) ;) Denisey My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/14/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 142 Amount Saved: $35 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 15 Mins: 21 Seconds: 40

You are in a fight and you can win. You will be tempted and you will be tested. Every crave passes. I know it is a cliche but every journey does start with a single step. I read recently that it takes approximately 30 days to develop a good habit...and only 1 day to break it. I wish you well. That's using positive thinking and saying YOU are the one in control. Don't let go of that. and be sure to set up a reward program for yourself!
