We have a great group and also, we still have a lot more with us than we seem to have lost. That is good. It's the 4th of july and I will be cooking for I hope all of my kids tonight and I hope going to fireworks. Here in houston, it is supposted to be terrencial downpours so I don't know, we might just watch fireworks on tv. So today, I have to clean, clean, clean and get ready. I had kind of planed on doing it on the patio, but that plan is scratched so I guess I have to clean up the house good. You know, It seems like it really has been mostly raining here ever scence I quit. It always makes it tough because I feel kind of trapped inside. Anyways, still going strong. Hi everybody, still smoke free. and the stress of life hold still for no one. My mother, who most of you know has COPD pretty bad, has started to talk about what to do when she dies. Right now, i can't even stand the thought, much less think and plan. I have a handicapped brother who will need to be taken care of or something and she wants to make a plan so that we don't have to make major decisions at a bad time. I totally agree that we should do that but I can't stand to think about it and I have been crying off and on and I can't always stop it. I'm sure part of that is the quitting and part of it is the subject.\ Anyways, she had me buy her a box of patches yesterday so I think she is thinking about quitting smoking. I told her I need her to live till after my kids are grown. I am so sad right now, that I think I am just going to go back to bed for a couple of hours. My kids are still asleep and it's nice an quite. I just wish all these stressfull things could wait untill I feel better and stronger to start with but I guess life goes on. Here I am and I am now one day past where I was when I slipped last time. I woke up this morning really wanting to smoke a bunch. I am on vacation from work with no plans to do anything at all. Had all my kids over and cooked, but we didn't go to fireworks because it was pouring rain here. My oldest kids came and didn't stay too long, but at least they came. They are really busy with thier own lives now, which I am really happy about but I really miss them. Anyways, I think I woke up wanting to smoke because the routine is broken by staying home, sleeping in and everything. I plan on going to gym before long today. Then I'm going to start a new book I bought. Glad to see we are still here and smoke free. By the way, for a big change, all my kids and my mom were at my house, and no-one was smoking. All my kids say that they quit too, that they didn't smoke very much so they decided to quit now while it was still easy to do. My mom has 4 days now, so we'll see. She seems shaky in her quit and won't try any of the suggestions, so we'll see. I feel that any amount of time she goes without smoking is that much less damage. Anyways, pray for me because I am craving pretty bad today. Wow, I had to come back and post this! I went to my new health club after I posted my last post about how much I was craving today, and i did a work out that there is nooooo waaaaay I could have done when I was smoking. If you have read any of my post, you know that I love to work out at the club, but this was totally awsome! I did: 1/2 hour stairclimber (don't know if you've ever had a chance to try this machine, but it is really strenuous and burns mega calories. The machine said 320 calories when I was done. I'm pretty sure that I couldn't have done this, I would have been out of breath.) 1 full hour treadmill at 4.1 miles per hour (that is speed walking) The thing is, I couldn't do that before because I would have gotten out of breath. i didn't even get at all out of breath. I could have gone untill my legs just let out. Also, all the stress seems to be gone now, and I don't want to smoke. I only came here to share all this with my June-bugs. EXERSIZE WORKS! Good Morning everybody? How are the June-bugs today. I am still craving but I think that is still because I am not in my normal routine. I have a lot of errands to do today, so I don't think I'll have much time to sit around and crave. These are things that aren't nessesarily pleasant but I just don't have time to do them when I am working, so I am going to get them done while I'm on vacation. Right now, I feel like a crave could hit at any time and any place. Even places I have never smoked before. I guess as time goes on it will get better. I won't be able to make it the gym untill this evening. I love the way the June-bugs support each other. We would love to hear from the ones that don't post often. What are you using for your method? Patches and wellbutrin What made you want to quit? My mom is sick with COPD How much did you smoke? 2 Packs a day How long? 35 years Let's get to know each other.
