Hi, I'm here and still smoke free. Yes, I think it is getting a tiny bit easier! At least for the moment. Not quite so much obsessive thinking about smoking. Ann, I know, I'm there with you! I have two teenagers at home too. But I also have two that are grown and on thier own and let me assure you that we do live through this, and everything works out. They come out ok. I actually enjoy my older boys now (24 and 21) especially now that they don't live at home anymore. I have a daughter that is 16 and son 13 left at home now. It is really crazy and if you are looking for sanity with a teenager, you are going to be looking a long time. You have to be carefull not to take ANYTHING they say personally. I really isn't personal and really has nothing whatsoever to do with you as a person. He doesn't mean anything he is saying. He may not realize it now, but he will later. Also, think of the benefits he is getting from your not smoking! You are doing him a big favor. I thought that both my boys were going to grow up to be mass murderers or something and they both came out to be great young men. MOTHERS OF TEENAGERS UNITE!!!! Love Ya, Mama P.S. Would you have enjoyed that argument any better if you were smoking? No! No one likes that smoking or no smoking so smoking would not have helped! Hang in there Duckie, it's going to get better! You are doing soooo well! I am so proud of you. I know it's tough when your sick. It's really bad that we smoked when we were sick before, I did it too, a lot. It seemed to bring us comfort. But that was a complete lie and all it really brought us is the relieve from withdrawl and a much tougher addiction. It made our sickness worse and kept us from healing. I just did my dishes and then came here to do my check in. That was my reward for doing the dishes. I also need to clean up after my puppy (boy am I tired of her!) Anyways< stay with us. I have heard of people being allergic to the material the patch is made from. My son is allergic to vinal (sp?) which a lot of things are made of. for instance, band aids, and some rubber gloves. He doesn't have reactions like that, mostly they are skin related but I suppose you could. The adhesive is also a possiblity. I am very proud of you for being two days with no nicotine! I have a long time before I am going to try that and I'm not sure I could do it right now. I have had a tough week and I guess I am just looking forward to going back to work. I didn't really enjoy my week off at all. Just one more thing that this nicotine addiction has ruined for me. But next time I have time off will be different. I will have licked this thing and won't even think of it. My daughter has two weeks now and I think my mom has a week. Our lives have completely changed, it seems like overnight. Well, I'm off to church now, check with you June-bugs tonight. How is everyone else doing? Did we make it through the weekend? Good Morning! I'm here, smoke free and feeling pretty good today! We looked at my daughters quit meter and she finally has one day saved. I think they give you more days saved the younger you are. Last night, my daughter was looking under her bed for some pictures she stored in her under the bed box and she saw a cigarette pack. I was very proud of her because what she did is come tell me. Then I had my only never smoking son go pull them out and flush them. Wooo another disaster averted. Have a great day June-bugs!
