Today is a week for me

Congrats Blue, and at one week you can have some fun with your quit! First of all you can go outside and take a deep deep breath, can you remember the last time you could do that? Now while outside, stand in the shade close your eyes and smell. I swear you will be able to smell like a bloodhound. Now, make yourself some fresh squeezed lemonade. Or get a bottle of that Simply Lemonade. Trust me on this, you will be so amazed at how good it will taste! Get some great fruit, it will taste fantastic. When you get into the supermarket where the fruits and veggies are close your eyes again to see if you can smell them before you see them. It is wild! ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 69 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,725 Amount Saved: $241.50 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 17 Mins: 31 Seconds: 12

Sleep Problems.

If I recall Day 1-3 is normal to be tired. I know I got a LOT of extra sleep. Cause ya know when your in bed you dont crave a smoke so I think on my day 2 I stayed in bed as late as I could. When I came off Chantix I had a slight craving for two days but really nothing much to be concerned over. I do remember that when I was on it I needed to be sure to take my second pill right after dinner 6:30 at the latest or I too would have trouble sleeping. The earlier the better (and less vivid dreams as well). BTW a little FYI: Out of the 7 co-workers here that started Chantix 3 months ago. Half of us are now finished with the pills and everyone is still a non-smoker. "knock on wood"! My quit day

Chantix is not like other drugs. Its no big deal if you have a smoke the first couple weeks of when your on it. Think Sue and I smoked the first week through. One of my co-workers after on it a week smoke a couple cigarettes and then that was it, hasn't smoked since. First three days difficult Then easy going for a few weeks, at the end of one month a few more cravings then you coast again. Come off the Chantix a few cravings during the day for 2 days but nothing major. You are on a very easy way to quit. With Chantix, when your on it, like it or not your quitting! From reading your posts I almost bet you skipped doing the list of reasons why you need to quit. Review the Quit Program Workbook. It may sound a little silly but the tasks are there for a reason. You need to actually WRITE OUT by hand your reasons you want to quit. If you have not done this I strongly urge you to do this NOW! idenity crisis?

Not sure if you stay at home or go to work. But for me I had such little free time at work, every free moment or break I would be running to the smoke area to poison myself. Morning break- Chain puffing a few to get that morning coat of tar in my thoat and lungs has been replaced with walking with a friend a few laps around the parking lot. Abt 3/4 mile Lunch - My after lunch desert chemicals including the smoke and stink influxation has been replaced with Aerobic exercise then sneaking fresh fruit back to my desk. Afternoon - My afternoon dose of nicotine and daily narrowing of my artieries has been replaced with three games of Ping Pong. Am I new person? YES! Do I know who I am? Maybe not, but I know I don't like who I was! Humorous quitting experiences

Thought it would be nice to post some of our funny experiences with quitting. Common guys, you have to admit there were some things that may not have been funny at the time but now looking back makes you laugh. I'll start... I have a bad memory! Day 1, reached to my shirt pocket about 15 times for my cigarettes. I kept my Chantix card there. Day 2, on Chantix (side affects) wake up at 5AM to my wife spraying air freshiner in the bedroom then spanks me and gives me a mean look. What?? What I do??!! My day 3 and late for work, I spent 10 minutes looking for my lighter. And a really cool moment, someone approached me at work on day 60 and asked me how the smoking was going.... I stopped looked at them with concerned look, I honestly didn't understand them, why are they asking me this? They then said, Your quitting smoking??? Hows it going? I smiled and said, Oh sorry forgot, Your right I used to smoke. :) a truly fine moment cause not only did I want to quit I wanted to forget I ever smoked. Your Cravings Last How Long?

Today I had about 4-5 cravings and 2-3 were pretty strong (in comparison to past months) but they only last for maybe 20-30 seconds. I did the Chantix quit method and just went off the drug a week ago so may explain the reason. Felt like being at week two at times. I even resumed a few caughing fits for no apparent reason. I am pretty commited to stay quit though, even with my worse cravings, had there been a cigarette in front of me I would not have touched it. I still think they are disgusting.
