Not sure where I found this but figured this would be an appropriate place to redistribute it:
Quitting Smoking is Easy!!
Easier than hearing your doctor say, "I'm sorry . . ."
Easier than breathing through tubes up your nose.
   Easier than having a Tracheotomy.
Easier than your child seeing you die from cancer.
Easier than losing a friend . . . or a friend losing you.
Easier than laying in the hospital having radiation treatment.
Easier than laying in the hospital wishing you could feel the
sun.
Easier than listening to your loved ones crying outside your
hospital room.
Easier than preparing for your funeral because the cancer has
gone so far.
Easier than picking out your favorite songs for your funeral.
Easier than trying to say the right words because they will be
your last.
Easier than not seeing your child's face because of blindness.
Easier than looking out the window knowing you can't go there
anymore.
Easier than changing your retirement plans.
Easier than imagining your spouse being alone.
Easier than going through your photo album with tears.
Easier than telling your child you are dying young because you
smoked.
Easier than realizing smoking was more important to you than
your life.

My wife and I decided to go out for sushi the other day. We discussed the temptations we might face as we used to sit in the bar area and smoke.
To our surprise the whole place has switched to Non-Smoking!
But since we now were non-smokers we decided to sit up at the bar, something we weren't allowed to do in the past as smokers.
Had a great time, I just realized now that we never once even thought about having a cigarette!

I got a love letter from Phillip Morris Saturday. I think it was the Marlboro Miles thing I once signed up for. It went right into the trash but realized I should get off that mailing.
Does anyone know how many Marlboro Miles gets you a new set of Lungs?

Did all us quitting cause the price of fuel to go up since tax revenues can no longer be gained from tobbacco? Oh gosh it's our fault! ;p

yep, even to non smokers some cigars smell pretty good. When I was a kid I remember my Godfather smoked cigars and I liked the smell of them if I was a good distance away. His wife smoke cigarettes I didn't care for the smell of those.
Bless them both, they both died from smoking related illnesses.

I think a Marlboro Mile was the distance I was willing to walk at Atlanta Airport when I had 15 minutes to spare before my flight began its boarding process.
Once there I sat in the luxury accomodation of one of those glass smoke-filled fishtank rooms with a view of airport conduit and old leaky plumbing.
Oh come on, you know the place, it is the room you would sit in and be on display for the hundreds of people who would walk by and stare at you like some sort of Zoo animal.
I always wondered what they were thinking as they walked by,... Now I know!
He quit cold turkey and stayed quit for abt 3 months as far as I can remember. Just started smoking again as abt a month ago due to stress.
I told him that I quit, I told him about Chantix, told him to quit again. He said he would.
Should have told him about this site, I will do that at lunch time. Anything else I should add?

Bad Side affects:
I Wake up tired in the morning
Feel like I am living in a dream world
Some nights I get up in the middle of the night to urinate then cant get back to sleep. It helps if I take my second dose before dinner.
Find myself grinding my teeth more than normal
Getting impatient, I want to stop taking the Chantix so I can forget I ever smoked.
Good side affects:
People at work seem to find me less stressful and easier to talk to ;)
I dont have to nibble on snacks anymore.
I can't remember the last time I had a craving.
