Thank you so much for sharing your story!
I am sorry you have had to go through this, but understand completely why you had too.
At least there was a light at the end of your tunnel. Not too bright though!

Now count like this 1001.... 1002..... 1003.... 1004...... 1005..... 1006...... 1007...... 1008
That is how often someone dies from a smoking related comlication.
I read that on another post (sorry for stealing it!!!) I love it. It really hit home for me.
Read all you can on what smoking does to your body. I looked at pictures, and they stuck in my mind...... Go through your reasons for quitting, and keep them close.
Drink water..... Drink water.... Drink water..... and more water!!!! Get some hard candies, licorice, anything you want, just do not smoke.
I'm proud you came here! You can do it!!!! I'll be right here for you!

Hi there again!
I just responded to your other post. With each and every crave, it gets easier.
Remember each craving is your bodies way of healing. After 3-4 days, you will need to heal your mind (the addiction).
Take it one craving at a time. Congratulate yourself with each and every successful crave you make it through.
The more thought you give to a crave, the longer it lasts and the more powerful it is. Change your thoughts immediatly, or at least take a crave for what it is, and do not dwell on it. No thinking "just one". It is never just one........... Just say, I am having a craving, and breath and breath some more then drink water. Then realize that the craving is gone............ And leave it.
You can do it!!

Hopefully the rains will go away today. Sunday is supposed to be sunny. Funny, here in Southern California, yesterday I was in shorts as it was sunny and 80 degrees, and today it is raining and about 60 degrees! I need my sun back!
Anyhow, whatever the weather, I promise to be smoke free this Easter weekend!!!!!!!
This is the first Easter morning that I won't be smoking up a chimney before family comes over to see what the Easter Bunny brought and hid for my girls. I am gonna celebrate!!!!!!
My first holiday SMOKE-FREE!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Hi Gogga!
I felt the exact same way last weekend when I went camping. There was a new part missing in me, and that was the SSC.
Keeping a journal is a great idea! I am going to try that next time.
Have a great time with your family!

Hello again!
You are a great person!
Most of my family and friends that smoke now have tried quitting many times. This was my first "real" quit, and I am succeeding. I hope that they see how positive I am, and happy, and glowing, that it just might give them a thought to quit. Even if they don't quit, if you can get them to see how life is on the other side without saying a word, they might be opt for trying to quit once again!
That is how I am trying to be now. :)

You guys crack me up. I'm sorry I am laughing while you guys are suffering.... but your words are very funny.
Again, I'm sorry, but thank you for making me smile this rainy morning! I'm still chuckling over your descriptions and words........
