May be the tobacco companies came up with this "wisdom".

Ang,
I can only agree with Rusty: I also wish I would have been a wise as you are when I was 18. I thought it was cool, and eventhough my dad bribed me into not smoking I continued. And it took me more than a decade to get to the point where you are. I am so proud of you.

Hi Ang,
I am sorry to hear about the sad events taking place in your life right now. Just post on the board whenever you feel overwhelmed and stressed out. There will always be someone here for you, kiddo!

Thanks so much for the inspiring words, Lady. I am going to print it out. Right now I feel that if I can quit smoking that I can do anything I put my mind to, how much more difficult than giving up smoking can all the other stuff actually be?
Redrosie, I am so happy for you, congratulations.

Hi ArwensMom,
How are you doing today? I hope you feel a whole lot better than yesterday. Drop a line when you get a chance to let us know. Just remember: It will only get better from here on, a whole lot better, believe me, and I am only into day 23.

Hi Notkool,
Hang in there. Drink some fruit juice, relax, and remember this shall pass. You will feel a whole lot better in a few days, believe me.

Totally hear you Jess in MA. I am in NYC, normally I'd be making sure I'd have enough smokes to last me thru the snow storm that is (supposedly) heading our way. How sweet it is!!!
N.O.P this weekend

Hi I'm tryin,
This is what I found out:
Smoking effects a person's metabolism and also burns calories:
Smoking burns up to 200 calories a day in a heavy smoker
Because smoking burns calories, metabolism is boosted (increased) slightly, also Nicotine is an appetite suppressant.
The website I found this info on also had this short but very important and true reminder:
Weight can be lost, lungs cannot. TextText
Hope this little piece of info helps.

You gotta try these cookies:
They are Italian Style Vanilla Cookies called Pizzelle, and I found them at Costco. 6 cookies have 140 cal, and they are really yummy.
Enjoy, Gaby
