Myth or Fact

You really have come a long way Davit.  Congratulations - what reward have you planned for yourself?  I think you deserve one for sure.

having a hard time

thanks Ashley.  I've been making the clay toad houses on a bowl as a form, then decorate with cut leaves.  Not too fancy right now.  You can make them on the wheel, but mine is packed away.  Some toad houses are bedecked with chimney, brooms, windows and window boxes.  They really are quite fantastical, round or square.

having a hard time

Thank you so much for your understanding.  I did think of you Davit as you are going through a lot physically too.  It is hard to slow down. This last yr. and half has been difficult physically and emotionally as I've written before.  I guess it's not over yet, but I am not giving up hope.  Maybe it's just taking longer than I thought so need to be patient.  Feel weepy today which is actually a good thing for me as I usually repress and block. I guess I can take one feel-sorry-for-myself day mixed with frustration and "what's it all about anyway?" type questions and take it just as it is.

Need a friend

Hi Shadowkins:  Hang in there,  and post and vent as often as you want.  We hear you and we do care as we have been through some pretty bad days too.  Sleeplessness was a big concern for me too so I do understand the exhaustion one feels the next day.  It will get better, pls. keep posting, we are here to support you.

having a hard time

Davit: oh phooey - about the mouse eating seeds you already planted.  Hope he didn't damage too much. Glad to hear your appt. went well and you had enough energy to get your car done too.
I worked a bit on the two toad houses - let's put it this way, I may be keeping these two for myself.  I don't mean to be a perfectionist but the first ones made teach a lot for the next.  I had never made one before. Remember how you can get into your work so that your hands are moving without even thinking about it?  well, I'm not there yet, it's been a long time since I worked with clay and it is more like work right now, but that's o.k.

thank you Red and Anerol for your support today.
Ashley:  you asked if I had seen toads living in them....no, I haven't personally. I've only heard of it. will try it out this summer.

Exposure Session

Hi Anerol:  I remember when I took a course to help parolees when they are released from prison, I had to drive to the "big city".  I was terrified of the traffic in the city especially when I didn't know where I was going, so a few days before the course started, I asked someone to drive me to the building at that specific time so I could judge the traffic and see how to get there and where to park, any information I would need.  I did drive alone the first time even though I was very nervous but I had the info. and that helped me a lot. It was a kind of preparation for me.  I think preparation is a big help both mentally and physically. So if you do pick someone, maybe if you go over the plan together and have a backup plan of sorts, it'll be easier. hope this might give you some ideas...

How do we get new members to post?

Matt42:  Congratulations on your driving and not backing down that busy left turn.  Phew, I remember those days but driving is o.k. now.

Therapist

My problem is I always force myself to do things.  Instead of accepting I just don't feel like it, I am more the type to force through it because I think I should.   Those awful "shoulds, musts and have to" sometimes run me.  I am learning though to accept that tomorrow is another day and be able to relax 'til then.
