carnationsL,

Welcome to the group and program.  Accepting that you have anxiety is a big step in the right direction. You are so right you can overcome it one step at a time.  You already have a very positive attitude which will take you far with your recovery.
Post often I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi carnationsL,

Thank you for sharing your story with us. There are many people within this support group that share the same questions and concerns as you.  We are all a group of individuals who support each other.

If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests.  These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor.

We also have developed a Panic Program.  This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above.  Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead.

These tests may or may not be for you but they are "free".  If you have any question or concerns with our “TOOLS”, you can contact us at support@paniccenter.net.  We are the Support Specialist for The Panic Center and are open to any questions or concerns you may have.

Please continue to strive forward and lean on us for support.

Hello,

I am a new member myself. I just started the program about a week ago
and it has been very helpful reading about how there are people out there struggling
with the same problems that I do. It is helpful because it makes me think that if others who are struggling
with anxiety can overcome it, then perhaps I can too.

It has been very hard to accept that I have anxiety, since I remembered my life before it and all the wonderful activities I could do without any problems.

I keep telling myself to keep going one step at a time, but easier said than done.

Hi A90,
Thanks for understanding. How's the day going for you?
Mine was a little antsy in the morning but I still got some cooking done and I was proud I was able to do it even if I wasn't 100%. Other than that, it's a calm day.

Anerol,

Thanks for the support! I hope ur feeling better after your dizziness; I know how uncomfortable and scary that can be too!

Hi A90,
I'm glad you are having a better day. I had a few setbacks yesterday with dizziness and all but today I am more calm and excited. Sorry to disappoint you but you wont be the person who you used to be, but an even more knowledgable and experienced person.  Keep venting and let us know how you're doing.

The days will get better but there will be set backs, that is just how the mind works but they will be smaller and smaller and less and less. I think we all did this up and down thing.  Some more some less. It depends on how strong you believe you will be better. Rebound is when you tell yourself this was a good day but I can't have two in a row. Watch for that one because you sure can have two good days in a row. You can have as many as you let yourself have.

anerol,
today wasn't too bad! I had the same setbacks that I usually have (feelings of unease, panic, anxiety) but I found it somewhat calming to try and use some of the techniques that Davit and the others have mentioned..(trying to ignore it and not let it have a power over me)...Im optimistic about using these new techniques and seeing how the programme and these discussions will help me overcome my fears and become the person I was again....I know it seems like a big ask, but heres hoping that the days will keep getting better and that I will have the strength to pick myself up if things arent going well!!

Hi A90
How is the day treating you today?
I'm glad you found some relief here!

Thank you all so much for the welcome and the kind words of support...You're right, even by posting here and venting a bit it's helping a lot to know that there are people out there experiencing the same things and that there are people out there who have come through the anxiety...it's comforting to know that it can be achieved.

Ashley, what I found odd about the post is that I could be so open and honest, and in a way I was being open and honest with myself and accepting that I DO have a very real problem and that I'm not imagining it all...

Davit; Thank you so much for the advice, I will try to work on controlling my panic in that way, it'l take a while as I'm sure you know that when something like that has such a huge effect on your life it's very difficult to ignore..I'm optimistic now though...I just hope I can maintain my optimism!

I'm so glad I've found this forum and programme, my family are supportive, but I feel that they dont understand in the way that fellow sufferers do.
It's nice to know I'm not alone in this.
