Hi Janet.....don't know if this helps, but the way you're feeling is totally normal. You need to find ways to feel better with something besides a cig. I like to walk/exercise as I am worried about ballooning up, but, really, it just makes me feel good. I take a book everywhere , something to do besides smoke. You get the idea. Yoga is great....buy a DVD for your next reward.
You are doing great....don't get discouraged. I promise it gets easier. This too will pass. It's not always easy and fun but you can do it. Just don't smoke. And, please, feel free to come here and rant, rave, kick and scream or just read. Maybe it's time to go shopping and reward yourself.
Stay close, post often and let us know how it's going. You, too, Penguin.
In love and light,
Janet

Hey Sheller.....very sorry about your mom, father-in-law....my mother died from pancreatic cancer and it's a tough way to go. My heart goes out to you. The other option is an nrt. Have you tried the gum or lozenges? The quit might be an overload right now but you don't have to smoke. Many have found wellbutrin helpful. You really should go talk to your doctor. I find loss devastating.....get help.
Stay very close and post often and let us know how things are going.

Walking....exercise in some way when the withdrawal was bad. Filled up the time, made me feel good and never smoked and walked so was not a trigger. Baths, too, are a nice distraction with aromatherapy. And, of course, coming here...reading and posting was/is such a blessing. :)

Oh Denisey....that's why they call it hell week. Yep, pure, unadulterated hell. The good news is it doesn't hurt and it does go away.....every day/week gets better. Everytime you say no to a crave, the next one is easier to cope with. One cig will never take the edge off, it will just rekindle the desire to smoke and smoke and smoke.
Hang in there and stay close,
Janet

I love knowing what it feels like to be smoke free before going to my grave (smoked all my adult life).
I love having my breath back.....walking and not being winded.
I love never being uncomfortable with friends because I need to get away and smoke.
Ditto the other posts
Also, the healthier lifestyle in terms of diet and exercise to minimize weight gain and just plain feel goof.....luv the yoga.
Have a grand smoke free day, you all
:)

Such a big milestone the beach, 100 days no smoking and you've still got your sanity. OOOOOPPPPS, there goes a topless girl, must be you streakin., watch out for the surf dudes, they like to smack the girls bums :eg:. Check the hammock....Lady has your name engraved and someone is over there with the blender.....margarita anyone?
So proud of you, Bogbot :)

BJ, I read somewhere....probably Allen Carr's book, that 20 minutes after one puts out a cigarette the withdrawal process begins. So, when you light up that next cig, you think you are reducing stress when in reality you are just feeding your addiction. So you see, smoking causes stress because if you don't light up, you become very uncomfortable and stressed.
When I read that, for some reason it made me really mad.....being duped for decades into this vile habit. But the anger and the knowlege helped me quit because, as Lady said, "everyday I'm closer to never feeling that way again" (wanting to smoke). That was my mantra the first couple of months and got me thru ALOT of craves.
NOPE,
Janet
