Hello everyone, I have been coming to this site for 21+ days. Lots of info here. I usually like to just read, I hardly ever post, but I want to now. I have been a smoker for 31 years! Never did I ever think that I would be able to quit. And the most amazing thing is that I quit cold turkey 21 days ago. I just got tired of being a slave to the cigarette. The first week was rough, but I would come here and this site helped me continue with my quit. Things are a lot better now, sure I get the urge, but it quickly passes. What I would really like to know from all of you quitters is aside from health reasons, why are you glad you quit. I will start by saying. I love getting the color back to my face I have a pink, healthy glow now! I love walking into my house and it smells clean and fresh! I love walking by the smokers huddled in the cold. (I use to be there) I can walk up a flight of stairs without getting short of breath. My mouth feels clean and fresh even in the morning. My little dog doesnt cough up a lung anymore. (I guess that was from my smoke) The money I save from cigarettes is being used for a club membership I just purchased! (And I still have money left over) I feel great about quitting and I am very proud of myself! Never again will I put another nasty, smelly, poisoned, life sucking cigarette in this body again! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 20 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 301 Amount Saved: $90 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 6 Mins: 12 Seconds: 49

there's this certain indescribable calm I'm noticing by not having my life run by a cigarette - liberating, empowering, emancipating. Is there a name for this? Freedom, perhaps... keep on keepin' on - fish My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/21/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 32 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 981 Amount Saved: $160 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 5 Mins: 32 Seconds: 0

Not having to plan where you are going to smoke, when you are going to smoke or IF you can smoke. Do I have enough, where can I get more, ah sh*t, i'm driving with non-smokers, when can we stop........ it goes on and on and on and on..... Just not worrying about it at all is freedom I didn't realize I was missing.......until now My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/19/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 33 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 506 Amount Saved: $222.75 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 1 Mins: 6 Seconds: 48

Hi Echo......echo.......echo........(OK so its a cheap joke.....chill out cos I'm english!) It was great to read your post....I have wondered how many people read and get some help without posting. When we log on, it tells us how many people are browsing and how many people are logged on. There are sometimes 10 or 12 times the browsers out there. Congratulations and you keep right on not smoking! brent My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/8/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 45 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 320 Amount Saved: 225 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 15 Mins: 8 Seconds: 53
