I just found this site at the smoking cessation support group. That group is fabulous and I've been quit four months (do I hear faint applause?)
I have anxiety attacks when I drive on the freeway. This is huge since I live in L.A. I just don't go anywhere unless I can take the surface streets which basically means I am a prisoner to a 10 or 15 mile radius. I get light-headed and fearful I'm hyperventilating and may pass out. Now that is very scary\terrifying. I mentioned on the test I don't like heights but I don't have panic attacks....am just uncomfortable.
I want to be free to go anywhere again. I live alone and don't have anyone to drive me. Any suggestions?
I feel just the way you do when I drive on the freeway...surface is okay....and I applaud your courage. There is no way in hell I could do that driving for 13 hours. I, too am new to this site. Hopefully, after I do the program, I will be on the road again enjoying life.
Good luck,
Janet
It's me and I'm cool :p A tiny bit smug at times.....going on TWO HUNDRED days :gasp:. And I give alot of credit to the unsmokeables...those celebrating a year this month and there are alot of them.....for my success!!!!! What a fine example they gave us coming up behind.
Well, for those of you that are new and struggling with this let me tell you the rewards and the freedom of being smoke free are so worth it. I am so strong and healthy.....went to yoga today and I do all the poses without being out of breath. Yep, such a good, positive change and God knows I loved to smoke.
Not one puff ever and let the party begin,
Janet

He is a lying DOG :mad:but all you can control is your own quit. Do not get upset with him and blow it.
Just do not light up one cigarette ever.

:)Stay close, post often and you will be a quitter, too. Just don't smoke. One cig is too many and 1,000 is not enough. All my favorite mantras and hoping one or two will get you thru the tough times!!! ;)

What a rotten kettle of fish for you, Brubaker, that you happened upon the two or three blokes on the planet that feel just as bad after two years as they did the first week. I, personally, would not believe those crabby asses and might feel they were perhaps raining on my parade. If you take it all too seriously it is just junkie thinking. That is, an excuse to start up again.
How about a portable DVD player and you can take it on a bus or somewhere that smoking is not allowed. Sometimes you must be creative.
An addiction and not a hobby...that is so funny :)
Just don't smoke. I promise it will get easier!
NOPE,
Janet
