So Lady, I made a deal with myself. I'll quit smoking for ten years and if I want to start smoking again after that it's okay. And that's less than half the time I was a smoker :p
I agree.....we were addicts. The occasional "brain breeze" (N2K speak) will surface from time to time.
This is not the post I saw Sunday. This is the real you. I never believe you'll lose it no matter what you say. Just glad you are feeling better.
Janet

Don't even ask about the three happy faces. Don't know quite how I did that as they were meant to be at various places in the post.... :confuse:hmmmmmmmmmm

Thank you for the support and wisdom my quit buddies. Here are my new mantras:
1.Better to be a non smoker with an occasional desire....hallellulja!
2.Smack the junky!!!!
3.We all have moments of crazy mind talk.
Oh yes, Lady, that quote has been on my fridge a very long time and helped me thru all the above during my journey.
LOL N2K....definitly the wandering mind. I was circling the nicodemon's playground. I had to go to the mall and buy a new sweater, go for a long walk and come home and take a long hot shower. Darth was whispering in my ear "you can have just one smoke now and then. Yeah right! The trigger? My life is like groundhog day right now....one day is just like yesterday and so it goes.
You have got a fun way of mixing humor and wisdom. T/y for the laugh :) You are Colombo, I am Clouseau. It's true what you said earlier tho'. We know way too much to seriously consider taking up smoking again. For me there is a big difference between the junkie thinking and the reality of buying a pack....night and day. Maybe it was a brain breeze.
Again, congrats on 6 huge months,
Janet

WTG, Rosie, Just remember that you may not lose weight right away but if you aren't gaining, you are doing good. The amount of excercise I do, I should be a twig but haven't lost much at all. However, they say muscle weighs alot so fat loss doesn't show up on the scale.
You GO girl,
Janet

LOL your post!! :) For a non-excercise couch potato I can tell you unequivically that the treadmill truly is the bomb!! It's very cool to have a nice bum for once in my life and love the strength in my legs. The novelty of easy hills and stairs......go figure. I admit if someone told me this is the fun stuff when you quit smoking I would have been more than a little skeptical
NOPE,

Oh Lord, how we do romanticise smoking for awhile after we quit. How relaxing it was....???? How relaxing was it when we ran out at an inconvenient time, how often did you have to sneak out and find a spot where smoking was "legal" and so forth. Quitting an addiction is VERY uncomfortable, misery inducing for awhile but the rewards are so wonderful in so many ways. The freedom is amazing and breathing well is such a great feeling just for openers!
Have you considered NRT, wellbutrin, something to help you get up and functioning again. You may want to talk to your doctor.
Stay strong and stay close....post often. We are always here for you
NOPE,
Janet
